The Story of the Wily Ape

    Section 6 - The Future

The past has spoken, what of tomorrow.

We often think of the future and tend to see it in a way that we do not matter in how it will happen.  This is not true and this is a surrendering of not just you but your family and all those you love and care for.  I do not say to take actions other than teach true ethics and morals.  In this we can bestow a matured and effective character in our youth and it is with that hope that the future can be based in part on.

Just as in school their used to be a sign that said "Do unto other others, as you would have others do unto you."  This golden rule is one of the first forgotten and society laughs at that aspect.

photo.jpg Michael Yeager - Greatest Speech Ever Made: Charlie Chaplin The Great Dictator

Change begins at home and living, raising and teaching a moral and ethical family and business life and holding others accountable as applicable with an eye towards moral and ethical behaviors and not so much pointed in punishment direction but towards instilling a genuine change, it needs support to change and understanding is part of the healing. The following speech is not new and that in itself is worthy of reflection.

It is in the teaching and enabling them to discover, understand and appreciate this truth and want it without manipulation of the youth who will not merely inherit the planet no matter the position born into life all can live with true capability to be happy, free and loved.  A very long process that will outlive many generations if it is possible at all.  As more and more people just leaning towards quality values it will shift in time in a slow growing process.

    Summary Thoughts

I do not really know what to tell you to make of all this.  It is truly too much information, especially if some of this is new to you.  I am not speaking out for revolution or any such aspect.  I just hope to help spark a signal, a signal that can begin the process of understanding that can lead to appreciation which outside of life itself is the only true gift we ever received, our intelligence to reason and find freedom from our barriers no matter what they are.

I have been all over this world and in almost all places I have seen a lost value of life.  We as a species have lost respect for ourselves but perhaps we never had respect for our species as a whole.  We have not yet woke up to knowing "what we actually are."

While we have eagerly embraced our wily traits and enjoy the toys and fruits of our technology we have yet to realize the responsibility of being the "type" of life form that we are.  It is in that, for which I see hope, it is this awakening that we can find true salvation from ourselves.

    :froggie:

Unfortunately, it is not so easy to simply wake up.  We have to learn, understand and appreciate what and why we are what we are at this moment, what we were in the past and what we want to be in the future.  When humanity is focused it is truly a beautiful thing and in such times we are remarkable and capable of bringing what was once impossible to reality.  This is true for both individual accomplishments and with the societal/group accomplishments.

People often look for "Super Heroes" in fantasy and never realize the human race is essentially a super life form capable of things far greater than we can appreciate just as our ancestors could not possibly imagine what the future reality is now.

    • They could not envision our present day.
    • We will not be able to see so far in the future as we think.
    • It matters what values we live by as individuals and as a society that will set the direction for the future.

We are one people no matter the illusions that may say different.  I hope this compilation helps people see past the illusions and that perhaps you will begin to see the correct value of not just life but your life.  It is in only in that the world can change.  Not by force or by elections or by any other means, only by evolution via understanding and appreciation of the people and governments to bring true values of the people and service that, not rule it.

    • We love our family.
    • We love our homes.
    • We love our communities.
    • We love our life.

This was used earlier in the document in the love of the unborn but it fits very well here too.

Our love of life must counter a desire to take undue advantage of each other, often due to greed aspects.  This can only happen from the source of love and not a protectionism or force aspect.  This kind of change must truly be wanted and desired and not via force or trickery or it will fail, this is about life!  We will not see this kind of world, but we an begin to understand and to begin the process that perhaps some generation to come will see that gradual evolution.  If done correct, perhaps they never even notice it.  It all starts with love and respect for ourselves and as a species and working from that to learn to live with one another as brothers and sisters.  It truly is that simple and that hard.  The question is, what will you do?

For those who actually go through this document and feel that it helped and if any such view towards appreciation should occur, I ask that you support those who made the videos and other works that contributed to this compilation rather than here.

It is them who appreciation is justified for enabling the traits of the video that likely helped relate or illustrate many parts of the discussion.  Thus I say the above to illustrate one aspect of merit and I sincerely thank them for their works.

The information in this compilation is a commentary in an artistic and explanatory manner that illustrates my personal view.  The entirety is a wisdom and an understanding from lessons hard learned over the vast periods of human time and it is those experiences from our past that has reached out to you in the hopes we will see what we are and what we can be.

If this is of value to you, hold politics/governance/consumerism/media accountable toward true ethical and moral standards and give direction to the youth of tomorrow.  Please remember that as it is only in the success of the future generations does it determine the success of our generation and thus how well we spent our gift of life.  We can do better but we have also done worse.  The skies may not be as clear as we like but their is hope on the horizon.  It depends on you internally if you can see it or not.  I do hope you can see it.

    Societal Manipulation

The entirety of the wily ape mental architecture made them vulnerable to become a dangerous and untrustworthy species but one that was capable and it is this aspect that made the wily ape species the most precious living commodity and thus became susceptible to manipulation and this played a direct role in the varied society models for which they lived.

    • Regardless of the type of government and society model their society suffered from the same faults discussed above.
      • Their are small tribes and groups who for the most part reject modern culture that do appear to break with this to various degrees.

The following 2 videos below illustrates how society was manipulated via various techniques exploiting the weakness discussed above.  This is both via intentional, unintentional actions and societal experiences with further manipulation to create a specific society outcome and/or control.

    • Look around "your" world and see how many things are politicized but they truly have no reason to be.  This is an indication of a controlling mechanism.
    • When people are reading/viewing "similar and/or directional opinions" on the news and see begin to see "that opinion/commentary as part of the the news itself" than you end up with a type of brain washing action similar to some advertisement tactics targeting general to select citizen groups.
      • When the media is "defining a politician" rather than their effectiveness, true ethics and accomplishments as a leader to "define" who and what they are.
        • I see this similar to a magicians coin trick, simple misdirection.
      • People are bombarded with directional/influential aspects or training and this is not always easy to recognize at the moment in time.
      • People tend to prevail to a certain over all view or political entity over any one or group of issues and they rarely ask why with genuine accountability and thus were and continue to be successfully manipulated.
        • Demand genuine information, apply genuine knowledge with moral ethics and hold accountable.
          • Easier said than done.
    • This is comparative to advanced dog training but upgraded for people.  Again, look at how many things politics infects in your life where it has no business.  Then look at how easy you accept it.  Just understand it as an environment.
    • Before change can effectively come the environment must be correctly understood.
      • Look at all sides, do not fear other sides and if it is more true to you, than perhaps that other view is correct.
      • I say to decide for yourself and teach the future correct ethics.  Easier said than done!

    :groin-kick-smiley-emoticon:

The use and the manipulation of "us"

Without any consideration as to "why" we exist I see the gift of life as a force or nature that transformed non living matter into animated matter with no masters but our environment and ourselves.  Imagine the possibilities once we gain freedom from ourselves in terms of governance.

When I see today's politicians no matter the location or party type they often speak and act In the name of "us" but they do not mean it the same as you may think or define the meaning of "us."  It often appears that way only when they need you.  I tend to caste a curious eye towards those who profess to know "us" and what is best for "us," especially when we have no genuine say in what happens to "us."

Perhaps part of the answer to the issue is to see the behavior as a political or special interest red flag when taking consideration of a politician when seeing if they use manipulation in use regarding their use of aspect "in the name of us."  With merit, this may be an act to gain support for their political career and/or party but this is stated generically.

To determine if this view is justified in a specific:

    1. Cross reference political desires that are in the "name of us" with ethics and morals without undue pressure in attempt to justify.

In many cases, the concept of "in the name of us" is a political method or tool used against you.  I understand a "justification" and/or a "reasoning with merit" can be a powerful and emotional influence but look at the morals and ethics of it.  Does it create victims?  How do they end in the plan?   What of other solutions and/or options.

    • When one group is raised and another is lowered in the process it creates a fighting aspect.  Why would a politician so easily want and/or accept such a situation?

That should be a significant question to demands true accountability and understanding.  While their are always winners and losers in complex society, this aspect has been abused to the point many people have been conditioned to just accept this level of pain, very common when its others who suffer or if you or interest directly benefit from the arrangement and a good story or a reasoning makes a complex issues simplified to the point of potential abuse.  This is the kind of result you get from that,  :ass-smiley-emoticon:  (click for real example)

This often leads to corrupt and/or ineffective political remedies that are more about controlling a political party and/or agenda than good governance and leadership.

    :pooping-gymnastics-smiley-emoticon:

    Another Perspective

With that said, sometimes you have situations where you have groups or people who have historically been restricted, discriminated against, mistreated due to racial and/or economic type of aspects who begin to fight for their place at the table and this process on all sides often is not effective to finding genuine solutions with those whom they seek change and/or justice.  Just the same, the governing body rarely tends to be overly willing to consider the views, merits, concerns and sufferings of these groups in a historical text.

Generally this is a communication problem due to lack of care (love part discussed earlier) by the governing and most vocal pro fight side personas.  This tends to lead to worse situations for which humanity has many examples easily seen today when looking at indigenous people to areas of gentrification within cities.

Politicians often use and seek out the support of these groups that have suffered looking for passionate fighters for their views.  Some signs of this are as follows and is generically written:

    • When politicians place fighting people in charge or use them rather than those working for effective solutions this is a sign of manipulation of that system to obtain control.
      • Fighters fight.
      • Effective leaders constantly evaluate and this does not work to most political agendas.
    • When nothing to very little ever changes in the politicians area this is direct evidence of ineffective leadership and power is held potentially inappropriately.
    • Look at their plans and views and cross reference that with true ethics and morals and see how that rates out.

The following video is illustration of behavior and is not about any political party

While varied groups struggle for influence this process should be better understood and appreciated by all people as to better work together.  Otherwise the only outcome is a form of fighting, be it passive or aggressive it leads to dysfunction of varied levels from protests to extreme actions/behaviors regarding issues that likely need not be if the issues were effectively acted upon at an earlier point in time before the fighting aspect snow balls into a more complicated and severe entity which further complicates true solutions as too many points of interest are demanding and can exert unequal force and manipulation within their perspective groups to better their standings.

The Story of the Wily Ape

Section 4 - Personality traits, emotions, capabilities & limitations

    :brain-fart-smiley-emoticon:

The limitations and constraints of the wily brain

The wily ape brains architecture while capable was limited and degraded by its inability to reflect upon itself with effective influence in regards to their actions, beliefs and behaviors.  This is caused by the two parts of the brain conflicting, the reptilian part of the brain is faster acting and generally takes lead between the two.  The evolution of our capability was faster than our intellect could emotionally rational to balanced proportions.  This imbalance has influenced issues to the individual to their society as whole.

    • The reptilian/animal brain influence tends to cause emotional actions/reactions and behaviors and is greater than their ability to utilize their intellect. :groin-kick-smiley-emoticon:
      • Enables the actions of fantasy and false confidence in the future to play a bigger role in forming understandings, behaviors and decision making.
      • The wily ape craved entertainment, attention and fantasy.  When used in decision making this had a negative effect.
        • Essentially the wily ape did not want to know itself.
      • For periods of time these flaws are tolerated and managed within their society.
        • Laws, education :computing-smiley-emoticon:, good government, science and philosophy.
    • The influences of tribalism, wishful thinking and short term perspective would instigate internal violence among its species but never enough to cause the extinction of the species as a whole.
      • Wars, pollution, diseases caused by their actions and behaviors among the species but the species survives as a whole.

The reptilian brain had influenced the species behaviors and this became at times harmful as the species increased in technological capability but it benefited the species greatly early in its ancestral existence when those traits were more effective.

Finding an effective balance as a society had not been accomplished even though many society models were attempted.  They all failed due to the same basic root cause.  The two parts of the brain were not in harmony.

    • The neocortex part of the brain is what enabled its extinction capability but also its greatest technological and intellectual accomplishments.  :58db4976aca5d_networkglobal:
      • The capabilities of the neocortex gave the wily ape a super natural type of power over its environment and population.
        • This gave the species the capability of creating self made disaster on various scales from small locations up to and including planet wide impacts.
        • This effect is directly amplified and related to the species technological capabilities.
          • Such as wars throughout history.
            • Small hand to hand skirmish with rocks and clubs, to global military interactions to nuclear war.
      • Overtime the animal/reptilian brain influences reduces the society ability to use wisdom effectively to influence understanding, behaviors and actions.
    • This tapered with negative results on society and with environmental influences and affects of "Tribalism," "Wishful Thinking," and "Short Term Perspective" eventually situations lead to the wily ape species extinction.

    Artistic Expression

Artistic expression in all its forms has the capability to influence and overtime this aspect has been used to manipulate and for simple expression that can communicate.  When we think of art and music we generally think of it in terms of entertainment and harmless but these aspects of life can influence us in ways not well appreciated.

This influence is often under appreciated by the masses but commercial enterprises engage these tactics to create desire.  On its face this appears to be harmless but it does play a role in the eroding of values of a society.

    • This happens by influencing people to act towards their desires and not necessarily to their responsibilities in life.
      • Newest Phone and TV size examples.
    • I am not saying to shun to entertainment but to appreciate entertainments influence and to see how that has affected yourself.
    • In understanding that you can better see the manipulation and then it can lose its effect at least in part over us.
    • I have used this aspect heavily within this compilation.

    Comedy

                  :rain-cloud-smiley-emoticon:             :dirty-language-smiley-emoticon: Rated R Video

I believe the trait of comedy comes from the blending of the reptilian brain and the neocortex as it can communicate with influence to both aspects of the brain.

Comedy enables us to deal with issues and aspects of life in a way that can be less shocking to us when exposed in this manner and thus comedy can also be used as entertainment, healing, education and manipulation.  With that said, the trait of comedy is often an under appreciated trait.

    • Comedy is sought out for entertainment purpose which helps address stress.
    • Comedy can help remove the sting of subjects by making dangerous or hard things seem less threatening.
    • Helps people cope with difficult subjects.
    • Helps people relate to one another
    • Comedy can be a form of wisdom
      • But in this it can be manipulated to direct opinions and view points of audience.
    • Comedy can be threatening to those who are at the pointed end.  :crushed:

Love, the potential savior/solution to their society

Love is many things and has strong influences upon individuals and is amplified by groups.  Love is capable of speaking the reptilian and neocortex aspects of the brain specifically in terms of something that tends be significantly of value of the individual or group as applicable.

    • Love = motivation.

While the wily ape had a flawed mentality it also had a potential and savior which is the aspect of love.  Love is a complicated and varied effect but in terms of this discussion Love, is discussed in 3 forms.

    • Love of a Stranger - Their ability to embrace others as the same as equals with charity and mercy.
      • They "can" get along and have capacity to love and endear to one another.  :network:   :58db4604c56e6_globewithlife:
        Work example:
        :bang:
      • Life examples:  :happy-nodding-smiley-face-emoticon:    :bow-down:    :awesome-smiley-emoticon:
    • Love of the Unborn - Their ability to care about future generation past the extent they will ever know them.
      • They "could" care for the future past their needs.
      • Examples:  :farmer:      :58db4621f1eef_treeongreenball:
    • Love of Truth - Their strength to resist trickery and unmerited temptations when making choices and actions.
      • Examples:  :plumber-smiley-emoticon:      :recliner:    :dollar-signs-on-eyes-smiley-emoticon:

The influence of love within the wily ape society could of been its savior as a joining aspect of the reptilian/animal brain mentality with the neocortex brain.  If did have the capability to managed itself to account for their intellect and compassion.  However, the wily ape simply did not know itself, though they thought they did.

    Compassion

An enabling trait to change is compassion but it is also subject to manipulation due to that capability.  Throughout various periods of time they have often fought the sensations from compassion in order to advance other views and ideology often accompanied during periods of turmoil and war.

Understanding the unfortunate and the needy is a part of humanity that enables a venue for the formation of bonds or strengthening of loyalty for/or against depending on the perspective.  The trait of being to able to relate to one another in a way of supporting one another rather than taking advantage of the weaker position was rare even when understood.

Empathy why influential is easier influenced by other emotions and can thus be regulated as a secondary influence in the behaviors of the populace.  This is a great video illustrating empathy by some people walking down a busy sidewalk.

This video is about compassion from the individual perspective.

The next video discusses some very good points on wily ape society by illustrating their brain's flaws and how it affected and impacted wily ape society.  This begins the topic by starting with the view of Aliens looking at the ape extinction and its reasons.

The wily mentality and how it affects behavior

The following video discussing the wily apes brain structure and sets a good basic understanding of the information following after.

The wily ape mind has two key aspects that enabled, constrained and reduced its society.

    • The Reptilian/Animal Brain or Old Brain:  :58db475329d5b_nono:     Aggression and lust and its affects on society.  This comes from the early development of our species and enabled these ancient ancestors to successfully survive and thrive in their environments which has allowed your existence to reach to today.  Our eyes and impulse reactions connect to this part of the brain structure.

The Story of the Wily Ape

Section 2 - Value and Meaning

    Value

In reality, we are not so different from one to another no matter the differences in appearance or the schematics for which we live as all of us share the same creation, the same building materials are within each of us.

If we must talk about a creation source for everything, yes science can point to it from the big bang to the interactions and continued interactions that created generations of stars that eventually gave us the building materials to be here in a way that life was eventually sparked and we have not yet found more of it outside of our world.

The above is about recognizing the true physical value of the materials for which you were created.  Not in terms of money or finances but in terms of rarity and its special properties.

The point I want to make is that all life is very valuable.  However, we tend to have fluctuating views on life in perspective to how it benefits us and/or when we perceive others as equals.  It is in the aspect of value being flexible within society that it can become destructive.

    • In truth, we are all made of most exotic most precious material in existence that we know of.  Their is no greater thing than being alive yet by our own limitations we turn away from that value very easily and for very little true gain.

    True Value

    Value + Meaning

This partially occurs due to a limited understanding to an appreciation of what "value" actually is.  To understand value in this sense we should realize that value is sort of in the eye of the beholder and often depends on whatever it or something should "mean" to each person and/or group.  That effect meaning has on us has a direct impact on the value we perceive it.  "Meaning" is the key to understanding "value" and how value is fluctuated by that influence.

Value Formula:  Other person/object/ideology + Meaning to you = Personal Perception of the value of the other.

This is illustrated well when it comes to sacred values and as such value itself can be more fluid and fluctuating than many appreciate.  For example, religious and race difference can, has and does have violent interactions based in part on some level of difference in understanding of value based on the meaning of what opposing side has toward the other.

Meaning plays a direct role in your personal happiness in life.

    :appearing-rainbow-smiley-emoticon:

The wily ape's ability change its values and meanings towards each other and its environment had an impact that was beneficial at times to its species but it also was exploited intentionally and unintentionally and it is in this twist that it's future depended.

In appreciating this, you take a step towards freedom for real.  Sound odd??  How free do you truly feel?  Your answer depends on such influences such as your perspective situation, age, financial situation and are examples of dramatic differences to that answer.  Now, ask why?

The following video illustrates how value and meaning are determined and its effects.

How we view ourselves often sets the tone how we view others.  By understanding this perhaps we can begin to appreciate others if we can appreciate and care about others position and why it is when understanding one another culturally and personally.

    Intro

This is an attempt to tell a story and illustrate some aspects of our society.  To do this I speak of the civilization of wily apes and how they and their civilization was in part molded.  To appreciate I will illustrate from what was learned via science starting from the beginning of time to now.

Earth is a paradise from the perspective of earth inhabitants as they have not yet found life outside of their planet and yet this has had no positive effect on their behaviors as an effective influence on the species.  The story of the wily ape will help explain why and I thank you for your time.

The Story of the Wily Ape

    Section 1- The Beginning

As we begin I ask you this question.  What are you?  :confused-face-smiley-emoticon:

Literally?  Have you seriously thought what and where all the bits of us came from that makes us, us?  We are made of some of the most exotic material in the galaxy, living matter that is self aware that can reproduce, learn and adapt.

From a starting point we mostly call "nothing" all that we are and see was created from the big bang to now.  Eventually life itself was sparked and the story of the wily ape can begin to be told.  To tell this story as to better understand we will start from the ending and work forward.

We are sacred but we do not recognize it.  Perhaps if you can appreciate how the materials from which you are formed came to be it might shine a light on that perspective for you.

    The Beginning

This is not about science but it sets the stage of understanding our true material value.  Often people think of things of value such as gold, diamonds, other resources but also in terms of how we relate to one another as in appearance, language, culture, wealth and the like but few think of the value of what they are actually made of.  We blindly take for it granted that we are alive and all the matter in existence but by doing so we lose appreciation of the value of our actual physical existence.

    • To us life is not rare, but in the universe, we still cannot find it elsewhere.

Long video from big bang to current day, explains how the materials in existence were created.

    Plant Physiology & Nutritional Transportation

This Fundamental Gardening Knowledge For The Serious

    :librarian-smiley-emoticon:

    Pre-Introduction

As I began to learn this information it had an effect I did not count on.  It applied to my health as well and as I learned and began to appreciate more about plant nutrition I got much better at human nutrition.  In this way we grow each other and goes to examples of how plants farm and manage us.

    • By learning about plant nutrition it has enabled me to understand and appreciate how bad my personal diet was and what that diet did and did not do for me.

I was consuming an average diet in regular society and thus nutrition should not of been a cause of concern.  As a result of this diet I suffered the typical afflictions associated with such a "normal" diet that the medical community was willing to offer a wide variety of pharmaceutical solutions except for explaining nutrition, diet and simply instructed to check out the internet for such questions.

Well profits skew that way of thinking and a grey area has been created and we end up with socially acceptable foods that actually harm us as honesty about the frequency of those foods would potentially be damning to foods in question.  All things competent those foods really should not be so easily accepted, except for the fact someone makes money off it, so it is ok.  I hope these words reach, for those it does it can help far more than just with growing a healthy garden but also a healthy you in many more ways than we tend to think when looking about plant nutrition.   We are actually talking about living nutrition as it applies in general to most thing.

I shared the above with you with the idea that learning this can potentially help others how it helped me in more ways than one.  I will now discuss only plant physiology and plant nutrition from here and apologize if the above is unwelcome herein.

    Plant Physiology Introduction

The following information can be complex and confusing.  It is more important that you understand the basics and the follow up sections will be far less complex as we get into the growth aspects.  Please do your best to understand the basics of this information.  If I can help better explain a confusing subject please let me know and we will find solutions as I am able.

Before we can learn how nutrition helps a plant we need to understand how the plant grows and functions throughout its various stages.  In knowing this we can better apply other management practices as to optimally garden.  Plant physiology is the basis for which the rest of the information will be based on.  We will start by discussing the basic plant structure in terms of energy production and nutritional transportation system of a plant.

    • It will help if you understand a bit of thermodynamics and kinetics but this is for more advanced understandings.

As we progress to the nutritional segments of these lessons we will discuss the different varieties of plant foods from organics to salts and their qualities, their benefits, their negatives, how to use, why to use and when to use.  In so doing you will be able to gain knowledge on how to evaluate the many fertilizer options and select from a learn-id position rather than a marketed direction.

This is a compilation of information from a variety of sources with the intention of effective instruction.  I have tried to give all credit for materials used.  Any error is just that, an error and is unintentional and once brought to attention will be correct as appropriate.  This is a not a money/profit generating enterprise.

    Plant Tissue Types & Structure

    • Dermal - Epidermis, Periderm = Prevents loss of water and protects the plant like a skin.
    • Ground -  Parenchyma, Collenchyma, Schlerenchyma = Metabolism, Storage & Support.
    • Vascular - Xylem, Phloem = Transport water and sugar.

    large.plantcrossection.gif.523b30c93f463

    Plant Environments (Roots & Shoots)

We often think of the plant environment as one thing but it is really two different environments.  Above and below the ground and is referred to as "roots' and "shoots."

    • By understanding these environments and how it affects plant biology we can better understand how nutrition affects the plant and can begin to better understand how to manage a plant in various stages and environments for optimal growth.

    Ground (Roots) Environment

This is the area of the roots and media layer.  Regardless if hydroponic or soil based it is considered ground or roots.  In following sections we will discuss the different aspects of hydroponic and soil based system medias but for this specific lesson we will consider it one medium type of simply "ground" or "roots" when referencing this area of the plant.

This is the area where plants store energy, the roots.

    • Roots transportation process:
      • Water/Salts/Oxygen > Root hairs > Xylem > Leafs > Evaporate > Pressure moves water up each evaporation like a chain.
        • Water/salts move upward via pressure controlled in part by osmotic pressure via water evaporation humidity and temperature.
        • Notice that oxygen is taken up by the roots.  This Oxygen is used in cell respiration, discussed later.
          • This is a key reason why it is important for good drainage for the type of plant you are gardening/landscaping.

    Type of roots

    Root Examples

    large.596febd5a9a72_monocotrootsillustra

    Monocot root illustration

Tap root - Dicot plants & ferns.

    • Is the main root and will sprout other roots laterally.
    • Anchors the plant
    • Can grow deep in search of water and begin to break up lower harder soil layers and initiate the tapping of lower minerals within the lower soil column.

    large.596febe1d2cce_rootstructuretaproot

    large.revision-notesbiologymorphology-of

Fibrous roots - Monocot & cloned plants.

    • Fine roots that extend from the main stem of the plant.
    • Trees 30–50 m tall has a root system that extends horizontally in all directions as far as the tree is tall or more, but around 95% of the roots are in the top 50 cm depth of soil.
    • Plants can be managed to be better drought resistant by training the plants to dig deeper before it makes fibrous roots as to increase the depth of the roots at the top of the media column.  This is only effect if water is accessible via water table, in low water areas this may or may not be as effective depending on the plant type.

    large.596febd431d8b_leavesofparallelvena

Parallel venation plants have fibrous roots. Reticulated venation seed plants have tap roots.

Adventitious roots (clones and stress roots)

    • Adventitious roots (clones and stress roots) are plant roots that form from any non-root tissue and are produced both during normal development and in response to stress conditions, such as flooding, nutrient deprivation, and wounding.
      • We will discuss the rooting due to stress aspect in more depth in a future writing.
      • All plant cells have the DNA to create a cloned plant besides the root.
      • Can be induced by ECMs or Agrobacterium rhizogenes (Bacteria that transfer DNA to plant and create root hairs, used in study and in instances as managing for drought resistence.)
      • Age‐dependent process.
      • Auxin cross talks with other hormones to control adventitious rooting.
      • Adventitious rooting is a complex quantitative genetic trait.

Unstressed and stressed roots via flooding illustrations

    large.596febc845100_adventitiousrootgrap

    • Adventitious root development in response to flooding.
    • Under aerated conditions, gaseous ethylene escapes from plant tissues, but during flooding, water acts as a physical barrier, trapping ethylene in the plant.
    • Gibberellic Acid or GA enhances the ethylene-promoted adventitious root growth,
      • Abscisic acid reduces the effect.
    • Ethylene triggers reactive oxygen species production, and together they trigger epidermal programmed cell death for root emergence and cortical programmed cell death lysigenous aerenchyma formation.
    • The main difference in some eudicots (e.g. tomato) is the requirement for de novo adventitious root initiation via auxin and ethylene signaling.
      • In the cross section, epidermis and exodermis are combined, but the exodermis can be several cell layers adjacent to the epidermis.
        • Yellow roots are adventitious roots, (diagram above)
        • blue and pink roots are lateral roots, (diagram above)
        • and white roots are primary roots. (diagram above)
        • Pointed arrows represent positive interactions, and flat-ended arrows represent negative interactions. (diagram above)

    :rooting:

    Clones

I discuss cloning a bit but will cover this topic in more practical detail in following writings.  This compiled section is intended to instill an understanding of the internal processes during a typical cloning process.  Regardless of cloning method this information is valid.

To create clones of plants a chemical imbalance must occur.  This can be created in various ways but in this instance we will discuss traditional cloning.  While the method of cloning may vary the chemical process is similar in rooting and the type of roots being created for the plants.  The figure below will help illustrate this process well.

    • By understanding this process you will begin the basis of learning how to create the type of roots you desire in a "best practice" or  "optimized" process.

    large.596febccd6c2e_Clonedevelopmentover

    • The graph above and below explanation from http://www.plantphysiol.org
    • Pointed arrows represent positive interactions, and flat-ended arrows represent negative interactions. Yellow roots are adventitious roots, the white root is a primary roots, and blue roots are lateral roots.

    Below explains the illustration above.

    • Adventitious root formation on cuttings.
      • In intact plants, cytokinin and strigolactones are predominantly produced in the root
      • Auxin is predominantly produced in the shoot.
      • On wounding,
        • jasmonic acid peaks within 30 min and is required for successful root development.
        • Reactive oxygen species, polyphenols, and hydrogen sulfide also increase and promote adventitious rooting.
      • Polyphenols do this via reducing auxin degradation.
        • Auxin builds up in the base of the cutting, acting upstream of nitric oxide to promote adventitious root initiation.
      • Auxin, nitric oxide, and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) increase soluble sugars, which can be used for root development.
      • The cloning act removes the original root system and thus levels of cytokinin and strigolactone (they inhibit root growth) are reduced removing this natural counter too root growth in a normal plant.
      • At later stages,
        • Auxin inhibits primordia elongation (reduced shoot growth) while ethylene promotes adventitious root emergence.
        • As the new root system establishes,
          • The production of cytokinin and strigolactones is restored and the plant will begin to function normally.

    General Cloning information

    • Staminate (male) plants have  higher average levels of carbohydrates than pistillate (female) plants, while pistillate plants have higher nitrogen levels.
    • Almost all plant cells contain the DNA and "capability" to create a whole plant. (Clone and petri-dish)
      • Not all plant species and phenotypes clone equally.
      • Selection of rooting material is important.
        • Selected that have finished growing up and start growing to the sides or radial growth.Younger, firm, vegetative shoots,
          • Top of the plant is not ideal.  the secondary tops or crown of a plant is ideal.
        • Cuttings of relatively young vegetative limbs 10 to 45 centimeters or 4 to 18 inches and are made with a razor blade and immediately placed in a container of pure water so the cut ends are covered to prevent an embolism (air bubble).
          • 3 to 7 millimeters (1/8 to 1/4 inch) in diameter.
        • The medium should be warm and moist before cuttings are removed from the parent plant.
    • Feed rooting cloning parental plants, a balance of low nitrogen to high carbohydrate is desired and achieved in several ways.
      • Higher carbohydrate to Nitrogen is ideal.
        • Iodine and Starch test. (video below)
          • Highly impractical and unnecessary for most growers but I put in this writing for information and for the curious and those who are optimizing in their growing methods and systems for "best practice" with specific/known plants or crops.
        • Reduce nitrogen and allow for carbohydrates to build up.
        • Crowded roots will increase carbon due to competition for the nitrogen in medias.
        • The  carbohydrate to nitrogen ratio rises the farther distance between the tip of the limb,
          • Cuttings are not made too long.
        •   Etiolation
          • Etiolation is a condition caused by the growth of plants in the absence of light. It is characterized by a pale yellow coloring, sparse leaves, and weak, elongated stems. The stems of a plant grown in darkness grow longer and thinner in order to reach a potential light source.
          • Its stems will also grow faster than those of a plant exposed to adequate sunlight. Since leaves grow at the internodes of a plant's stems, a plant suffering from etiolation will have less leaves than a normal plant.
          • Chloroplasts that have never been exposed to light remain immature and non-pigmented and are known as etioplasts.
          • When a plant suffering from etiolation is exposed to sunlight, a process known as de-etiolation occurs. In de-etiolation, a plant begins producing chloroplasts, becomes greener in color, and produces fuller and more plentiful leaves. Over time, the internodes of the stem will become a normal length.
        • Inhibiting rooting factors
          • Woody Stems.
          • High nitrogen in parent plant.
          • High nitrogen in clone leaves.

    Leaf Anatomy

    medium.596febd19437c_leafgraphiccells.gi

Upper epidermis is a single layer of cells containing few or no chloroplasts. The cells are quite transparent and permit most of the light that strikes them to pass through to the underlying cells. The upper surface is covered with a waxy, waterproof cuticle, which serves to reduce water loss from the leaf.

    • Epidermal cells are on the upper and lower surfaces of a leaf.
      • The epidermis usually consists of a single layer of cells.,
        • Some specialized leaves of some desert plants and in cold environment plants can have epidermal layers which are several cells thick.
      • Cuticle - Waxy layer that prevent water loss within the leaf.
        • Plants that live in water do not have a cuticle, waxy layer.
      • They have two features which prevent evaporative water loss: they are packed densely together and they are covered by a cuticle, a waxy layer secreted by the cells.
      • Flavonoid pigments are contained in large vacuoles inside the epidermal cells.
        • Flavonoids absorbs ultraviolet radiation,
          • Similar to a sunscreen or tanning lotion for internal layers of the leaf, by filtering out harmful solar ultraviolet radiation.

Palisade layer consists of one or more layers of cylindrical cells oriented with their long axis perpendicular to the plane of the leaf. The cells are filled with chloroplasts (usually several dozen of them) and carry on most of the photosynthesis within the leaf.

    • Palisade cell layer at top of leaf - To absorb more light
      • Palisade cells contain many chloroplasts to absorb all the available light.

Spongy layer beneath the palisade layer, its cells are irregular in shape and loosely packed. Although they contain a few chloroplasts, their main function seems to be the temporary storage of sugars and amino acids that were synthesized in the palisade layer above the spongy layer of the leaf.

They also aid in the exchange of gases between the leaf and the environment. During the day, these cells give off oxygen and water vapor to the air spaces that surround them. They also pick up carbon dioxide from the air spaces.  The air spaces are interconnected and eventually open to the outside through pores called stomata.

    • Collectively, the palisade and spongy layers make up the mesophyll.

A single vascular bundle, no matter how large or small, always contains both xylem and phloem tissues.

    • xylem - Consists of tracheids and vessels that transport water and minerals to the leaves.
    • Phloem - Transports the photosynthetic products from the leaf to the other parts of the plant.

Lower epidermis contains most of the stomata (thousands per square centimeter) which are located in the lower epidermis. Although most of the cells of the lower epidermis resemble those of the upper epidermis, each stoma is flanked by two sausage-shaped cells called guard cells. These differ from the other cells of the lower epidermis not only in their shape but also in having chloroplasts. .

    Stomata

    • Open in light and closed during night.
    • Transpiration is when the plants intakes carbon dioxide, releases via evaporation water and oxygen.
    • More plentiful on the underside of the leaves but are all over the leaf.
    • Approximately 95% of water in the plant transportation system is lost due to transpiration.
      • Water evaporation from stomata as part of the osmatic pressure system.
    • Guard cells when open accumulate potassium salts, causing an osmotic pressure that uptakes water.
    • Guard cells control the open and close stomata function and is influenced largely by the environment (light, temperature and humidity) and results in osmotic pressure.
      • Guard cells can detect blue light and varied levels of CO2 (carbon dioxide).
      • Guard cells are the only epidermal cells to contain chloroplasts.
        • Some chloroplasts are found in the cells of young stems and immature fruits but do not play a large role in photosynthesis.
      • During drought stress guard cells release abscisic acid.
        • It inhibits plant cell growth and is is in part responsible for fruit drop, leaf death and seed dormancy. and helps plants respond to water loss and seasonal changes. Its effects can be reversed with gibberellins.
        • Abscisic acid is a hormone that will trigger dormancy.
          • Often growers tend to think of dry soil negatives as reducing media microbe and fungal life, concentrating salts but few know or appreciate the abscisic effect on plants as only by knowing plant physiology will one tend to appreciate this outside of experience in the field with drought conditions.
            • Do not allow young plants to dry out in their media unless that is part of that natural environment for your plant.  Example of cactus.

I have also added trichomes as they are part of some plants more than others in significance.  However, this is not part of plant physiology and I will discuss more on this subject in future compilations.

    • Trichomes - Help to avert being eaten or invaded by some pests by restricting insect movements and/or by storing toxic or bad-tasting compounds.
      • The rate of transpiration can be reduced due to a reduction in air flow across the leaf surface.

    Monocots vs Dicots Explained

    • It is really easy to determine a monocot and a dicot. However, first, it is important to understand that monocots and dicots actually represent the two main branches of flowering plants. That means that almost all flowering plants can be divided into one of these two groups. Of course, the key word is almost all. There are some that don't fit into the two groups all that well.
    • The five main characters I like to use are Leaves, Roots, Stems, Cotyledons, and Flowers.

The video below explains more of the plant structure.  This is a good video to gain an appreciation of a plant structure as it is in that knowledge that can better not just understand the structure but how nutrition plays its role in building the structure.

    • By understanding a plants development at the various stages of growth nutrition can be accurately adjusted optimally for the development of the plant.  In short, this knowledge will help you speak plant.

    • Paul Andersen explains the major plants structures. He starts with a brief discussion of monocot and dicot plants. He then describes the three main tissues in plants; dermal, ground and vascular. He also describes the plant cells within each of these tissues; epidermis, parenchyma, collenchyma, sclerencyma, xylem and phloem. He describes both primary and secondary growth in plants. He finishes the podcast with a discussion of double fertilization in plants.

    Plant Nutrition and Transport

Since many people will already understand plant structure I have added that section below even though it would be more appropriate before this section.  However, their is very good information in the plant structure section I recommend watching the videos.  Very few people will not learn something from the videos to the writings (compilation).

Regardless of water and nutrition, a plants transport system depends on a correct growing environment in terms of temperature and humidity as this directly affects the internal and external functions of the plant system.

Basic Plant Nutrition - We often think of plant nutrition and NPK but this is not wholly correct at the cellular level as far as the plant cares about specifics.  For example, we need protein, be it from meat or milk all things correct we can utilize protein in that form.  Our body only cares it has a protein.  Generically stated for illustration.

    • Carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, Oxygen, phosphorous and sulfur.

We will discuss plant nutrition in all its details in later sections but for the intention of understanding how a plant internally functions in transporting and in creating energy the above will be the main subject of plant nutrition within this specific section.

    • All organisms require food and water for their survival. Transportation is the process of transporting water, food and minerals to the different parts of the plant body. Xylem, transports water from the roots to all parts of the plant through root hairs. Raw materials such as carbon dioxide, water and other minerals are used to prepare food in the presence of sunlight through photosynthesis. This food is then transported to all parts of the plant by the Phloem.

Below you will find a video that will explain in an easy to understand format what the plant needs nutritionally and how it transports nutrition and utilizes it.  While it may seem a bit a redundant the videos compliment each other and together equal a quality lesson.  The top video has superior visuals but the bottom has more information and is an effective illustrative video as well.

Paul Andersen explains how nutrients and water are transported in plants. He begins with a brief discussion of what nutrients are required by plants and where they get them. He shows you dermal, vascular and ground tissue in monocot and dicot roots, stems and leaves. He then explains how water is pulled up a tree in xylem and how sugar is pushed in a plant through phloem.

    Oxygenic Photosynthesis  & its equation

During oxygenic photosynthesis, light energy transfers electrons from water (H2O) to carbon dioxide (CO2), which produces carbohydrates. In this transfer, the CO2 is "reduced," or receives electrons, and the water becomes "oxidized," or loses electrons. Ultimately, oxygen is produced along with carbohydrates.

    • Oxygenic photosynthesis functions as a counterbalance to respiration as it intakes carbon dioxide it reintroduces oxygen into the atmosphere.
      • Carbon dioxide exhale by many living things and oxygen released by the oxygenic photosynthesis process.
      • Their are other types of photosynthesis and other energy generation but we are mainly going to discuss oxygenic photosynthesis in plants.

Light-dependent reactions (also called light reactions):

    • Light photons contacts the reaction center a chlorophyll pigment releases an electron.
    • The electron in the chlorophyll makes an electron hole and the electron wants to escape and is released via an "electron transport chain" which generates the energy to make ATP "adenosine triphosphate" which is energy and NADPH.
      • The electron hole in the chlorophyll pigment is filled from electron from water and oxygen is then released into the atmosphere via the stomata.

    Photosynthesis Equation

In photosynthesis, solar energy is converted to chemical energy. The chemical energy is stored in the form of glucose (sugar). Carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight are used to produce glucose, oxygen, and water. The chemical equation for this process is:

    • 6CO2 + 12H2O + light → C6H12O6 + 6O2 + 6H2O

Six molecules of carbon dioxide (6CO2) and twelve molecules of water (12H2O) are consumed in the process, while glucose (C6H12O6), six molecules of oxygen (6O2), and six molecules of water (6H2O) are produced.

    This equation may be simplified as: 6CO2 + 6H2O + light → C6H12O6 + 6O2.

    • Paul Andersen explains the process of photosynthesis by which plants and algae can convert carbon dioxide into usable sugar. He begins with a brief description of the chloroplast. He describes the major pigments in a plant (like chlorophyll a and b). He then describes both the light reaction and the Calvin cycle. He finishes with a discussion of photorespiration and strategies for avoiding this problem evolved in CAM and C4 plants.

    Cellular Respiration

I know we think of plants and us as very different as they use photosynthesis but we both use cell respiration very similarly and few actually understand nor appreciate that understanding but it is important to understand this aspect as when it comes to evaluating various traits of plants this information is vital if you understand how to "see" it and "use" it.

    • By understanding this we can better acclimate a growing environment for optimal levels for specific plants in greenhouses and indoor gardens based on observations and adjustments of your plants and not following a generic guide.
    • By learning to identify plants that have strong photosynthesis and cellular respiration rates in selecting genetics for clones or breeding is often an desirable but under looked trait.

The video below further explains photosynthesis and respiration and discusses how photosynthesis played a role in early life on the planet.

    • For many this video may seem a bit much and that is ok.  It is mainly listed for those who want more information and understanding with more details.  He also explains different versions of energy creation but is not a large portion.
    • I highly recommend this video but for your average gardener this information is overly technical for that need.  The plant cell video prior in this thread is similar however there is additional information when viewing both lessons.
    • Paul Andersen details the processes of photosynthesis and respiration in this video on free energy capture and storage. Autotrophs use the light reactions and the Calvin cycle to convert energy from the Sun into sugars. Autotrophs and heterotrophs use cellular respiration to convert this sugar into ATP. Both chemosynthesis and fermentation are discussed. The evolution of photosynthesis is also discussed.

    • Paul Andersen covers the processes of aerobic and anaerobic cellular respiration. He starts with a brief description of the two processes. He then describes the important parts of the mitochondria. He explains how energy is transferred to ATP through the processes of glycolysis, the Kreb cycle and the Electron Transport Chain. He also explains how organisms use both lactic acid and alcoholic fermentation.

    Summary

The knowledge base of plant physiology is currently growing at fast rate.  As such each year they are learning more and more about the physiology of plants and some of these are not listed above as science has not yet determined what those functions truly are or what they are doing outside just learning they exist.

    • As a result, the older this work is, it might need a revision or update depending on the extent new knowledge that will be learned as science as whole learns more.
    • This is compiled January 2017

You should now have a working understanding of plant physiology and if you understand how environment and basic nutrition plays a role.  You use this information and apply it to your garden.

    • By utilizing all this information you can grow your plants to "best practice" as is possible for your growing areas limitations.

Often we go to stores and see a massive variety of fertilizers with all kinds of claims and fancy graphics and names.  Few people can see past the advertising as it is the advertisers and/or other equally untrained to moderately skilled gardeners who teach most home gardeners, outside of a family/friend dynamic with access to experienced gardeners.  Many gardeners are at a knowledge disadvantage.

This information is compiled in part as an attempt to answer this issue by working to instill fundamental knowledge so that home gardeners can learn what is gimmick and what is a good product and how to use it properly for their crops.

    • A benefit of these lessons if learned is freedom from false advertising as you will not be easily fooled as knowledge can work to prevent emotional and impulse sales based on "adjective" sales tactics.

By understanding plant physiology you understand how plants transport nutrition and create energy.  This knowledge base will serve you well in future management practices as you can better attune your environment, nutrition and management to optimize your specific crop.  This is more desirable in high value crops.  By optimizing the plants ability to transport nutrients and generate energy you can begin to obtain the plants potential.

    • However, by allowing negative factors to act against early plant physiology during its early growth stages can have significant limiting factors that the plant cannot fully recover from and thus the plant will not obtain its potential no matter the betterment after the shock.

Plant Physiology in breeding, generically you first want to select plants that illustrate early strong plant physiology traits from roots to leaf health and vigor.

I am honored but please use as your own as I believe we all flow in simular directions.  You will see the flow and words when you need it and thus are not mine but I merely comment on.

    • In such, I know the direction but respect for outcome is heavily yours.
    • I only speak alphabet basics for illustrative purposes.  I do not give easily but is correct and  truly flows from me as if I have little control to speak myself which I almost always keep hidden.
    • Know that we benefit from one another.  Without you I do not believe I am able to maintain my energy level and is your advice and direction that is difference.
    • If any benefit comes from such discussions, I believe it mutual.
    • I see us as owe each nothing but contribute and where that leads I have no idea but is natural as far as I feel.
    • We flow similar no matter what we want but I see it as we want and perhaps we gain an inch.

Then again, maybe I am bat shit crazy but damn if its not fun and strangely true but maybe I only see the shit I speak.

    Back to the good stuff

These discussions do my heart well!

I used to hate most and now I have a love for all even if I hate the behaviors and actions.  I think that says it all.

    • I see those imprisoned in life by emotion and that leads to "trappings of those life choices" and this is what alters and controls them.  I see them today, no matter how wrong, as a like a child who does not yet know.
      • The negative extent of the impression of the behavior does not equate to lost for ever but lost as they are now and direction at that point in time.
    • We are not alive as ourselves until we are free of emotional controls.

Teach/preach/empower ethics and morals and free our youth from the trappings of emotion and if they are capable teach them to be capable.  This is largely how I see myself and is the biggest direction I walk towards.

    • Speak ethics and morals to those you can when applicable when giving private advice to them when they seek it.
    • I say things and discuss things with some very hard people that no one else could as they tell stories of their past.   I will tell them whoever it is, what is correct and not correct with that.  Sometimes they cry, get angry, can get violent but I have not had that, get upset but always they come back with better words and it helps change them.  They evolve slowly.
      • Have them feel and see the emotion fully around what they have done.  They did not have this before and thus they did not appreciate their actions.
      • True unethical/immoral people are able and easier to be identified during such discussions as they will continue over time to justify their actions with no thought of change rather than understand and evolve.

Those who are correct will find you.  We need do nothing but be yourself.  Doing other shit will draw attention but not necessarily correct attention.

    • Energies flow like to the path of least resistance kind of thing and this is how they will find you.  It is not like a magical fate thing but like how a bear fishes at water falls for salmon.
    • We just need to be wise enough to choose the correct fish.

FYI - When you are free, your life becomes art if that makes any sense.  For most it will be later rather than sooner.

    :58db46007e283_frogeats:

I do very similar and have done for many many years.  This is part in how you can see yourself for real what you do but I have been seriously warned by others on this and this is what I will relay.  This was part one I learned as a kid to deal with my life.  The frog and some other type of meditation discussions you and I have had was part II for me.   Specifically in energy management which I am most grateful.

This is great exercise you speak of and I look forward to your views in further discussion.

I will explain what I do and have been doing since a kid in various degrees.  I was kinda born into knowing it or I just forest gumped into it as it was just always something I did, either way it is the reason I am here as I likely would of become a different kind of person than I am otherwise.

I will teach or work with others in this in the rarest of situations and I will explain the rare as it is based on the warning I got.  If we are not careful, we will hurt more than we help.  It is hard to determine who can be helped and who cannot because it depends on them and sometimes their needs and a desire to help can cloud better judgement.

    • For those who "want it" (largely due to suffering) more than a "true dedication" to doing the process will be the problem in determining.  Beware though, those who "want it" as they can appear and at the moment be very genuine in their desire but here are some things to consider.
      • How is the person in their normal life.
        • Do they finish what they start? (worth the time)
        • Dependable? (need to see they will competent to due diligent)
        • Ethical/moral?  (important for later)

I cannot stress enough to be careful who to help as you will do more than work to free them but also unlock them.  That is a boon or a crime, almost literally.  Understand, that once someone is free they will become thirsty and hungry and if the person is not correct emotion will take over and we end up with ass holes who are effective in what they do as freedom does not equate to good.

I know the capability of man and it is scary when emotion rules us.  This is why I stress emotional control and I have a way dual working together with what you are doing along with some other aspects to help address the issues.  A persons emotional complications have to be unwound to be free of the emotional reigns all things competent.  Please believe this need be in tandem and not at different stages otherwise the strength of some meaning and pointed moments can be diminished due to time.

    • Think of wanting thick paint but is thinner.  Still paint but not the same.

    WARNING

I have been warned by person of capability once about teaching the safe place and is essentially in concept the exercise you do.  To others they may call it simply meditation (not all meditation is the same) but the core concept remains and similar ends are often the goal/result.  Conceptually speaking to find clarity and I speak generically for sake of time and not to write to many novels.

    • This warning is so significant the person who told me this, stopped teaching it because of issue they have seen with it.  Do not take lightly and is reason why I speak on determining a persons ethics/morals (not same thing, know the difference in evaluation).
      • Help free and make powerful the wrong person and it will haunt you.  Those who are in need now will be different later.  See that difference.
      • I would say think of it like picking ripe fruit and leaving unripe fruits to ready before picking.  While we might want to pick all the fruit at once we get a higher quality and market crop by picking when ripe and not due to convenience.

Freedom can enable optimized capability and we being the wily monkeys we are with little control of ourselves due to emotion we become a danger more than the words I write can relay an appreciation for.

Ok lets go on with it

What I call safe place = similar as you do I believe.

    • This exercise is a template or an environment that will enable one to see one's self truly without the wrappings our emotions that often twists and manipulates our ego.  Release from those wrappings to chains is towards freedom.

    Discussed Process:

    1. Clear the mind until you find silence from silence, basically doing the exercise you do until they can get to where they keep thoughts clear, just space and them, this will be very hard if not possible for them do at first.
      • You can help guide them but only in helping them focus and become familiar with environment, you do not lead or you build it in their mind and this is not same thing and will not end as you want.
        • Do things like this,
          • if on beach, have them feel beach environment from sound of waves, wind, smell, feel on feet, taste the whole thing.  Take them literally their.
          • Do this until they can do it on their own, this can vary but be patient and help guide them to calmness if needed.
            • Maybe start with removing all stimuli as possible such as lights, sound and such.
            • Start off doing breathing techniques and/or other aspects to better direct towards calm.
      • The harder/longer/if even possible to do is illustrative of emotional aspects.  Initially they may have problems and it is these subjects bombarding them along with life shit, they can clear out the day to day life stuff but the big stuff is heavier.
      • Those using as basic clarity and focus meditation can sometimes stop once they get comfortable and is a good daily once or twice exercise or as needed but most will go a bit further.
        • For those able to deal with issue and work it out this is part of natural process of dealing with day to day decompressing so to speak.
        • Most will fit this category.
          • I warn of blindly intertwining with emotions or issues that you are not prepared for can be negative overall.  Mean get meaner or irritated more to aggravated type of things.
          • This is easily seen in some people than others and is reflective of their ego and in that is much information to see if one can understand that.
            • Many personality traits can point to such things but I use above for ease of illustration.
    2. Imagine yourself at your safe place.
      • Now show yourself to you.  what do you see?  But before you answer that, have you learned to look at yourself?
        • What you initially see is not just you but the effects life has done to you.
          • These effects on us are typically negative things and can be removed.
          • What is important is to understand what you see right now is not the real you, not yet.
        • Your ego is what you really see as you cannot hide from yourself but you can make yourself see something else if should choose too but when seeing yourself free of influence you will see the true you.  Similar to Dorian Gray :mona-lisa-smiley-emoticon:
          • We tend to have no idea what ego really is and when we do we tend to not appreciate accurately.
          • I recommend using it as a ships rudder and use it as a guide for which direction in life choices that most agrees with who you really are no matter what that direction is.
            • Being true to your genuine self is what I believe is a good part of achieving happiness but this does not always equate to best choice advantage wise in regards to finances and ones morals and ethics.
            • Sometimes we have scars because their was no other choices but when you can, choose your scars well and live a good life by your true self and free of influence.
              • Be it good or bad to my view is irrelevant in that regard and thus makes the whole good and bad view questionable but that is for another day and is more about energies.
    3. I then have them make a safe place.  For some it is a beach, mountain, a tree or what have you.  Do not have them tell you, that way they trust more later when and if you have to explain their world to them.  (you should be able to see it as they do)
      • WARNING THING - in so called safe places emotion can trick and hide insidiously.  I have not seen this but is in part a big warning I got on this and is in part why this is not easily taught.  This is why I speak on type of person before trying to help, in part.
      • Also, beware if you are not correct, the potential for manipulation is great and few can resist this temptation over another.  If I felt that way with you I would not speak but we do write this in the open for all and is the reason for that comment.
        • I worry on that and is in part why I am reluctant to teach.
    4. Once they make a safe place they should be able to get centered and become stable a bit feeling wise.  They should be able to regain focus and energy.  For some, this is better than coffee or energy type of things.  For many, they stop here but this is only beginning but it can be safe to stop here.

For most who stop here and just use to focus and gain some clarity and energy this can be enough but for those who take it further is the warnings I speak of.

Ok, neat trick but what is going on?

    • Energy boost is from them being too scattered with their energies at the moment.  Day to day to life can do this and is normal life.  General meditation in many cultures work this direction.  Essentially is a side effect from focusing energies on nothing (releasing energies/thoughts, pressures, issues at the time and such).  Then when you focus that energy in a tighter direction it has a greater effective.
      • Think of taking a wide beam flashlight and make it single beam of light.
    • Emotion will bring up the big issues and keep them tied up in energy and is the limiting factor in ones life far more than they appreciate as those issue cause behavioral and understanding limitations among other aspects.
      • Have them identify what it is, not always easy and is likely only partially showing itself but I have a solution I will speak on shortly in this document.
        • The person might have a distinct figure or entity that negatively affects them in their mind.
          • It is a result of that emotional damage.
            • Can have many parts to it to address that span the lifetime of the person.
        • It is not as bad as they believe it to be as they are in a hole looking up and the sky is small to them at the moment.
          • Expect full range of emotions from the person.  You will have not learn to not care about any thing they may say or do to you.  See that emotion is not something else but their own energies eating them and they empower it to the point it has often become part of what they are but they can be free if they choose to the hard work of facing it.
            • Kind of like the frog, but without the frog.  Just hard work and it takes bravery, strength and constitution but being free.  You will face your demons and until you remove them, their will be no freedom.
    • Is like a break from life.  Anytime you need a moment of clarity or a boost of energy just simply going to your spot can do wonders.

OK, whats this tandem part with emotion spoke on?

Emotion is the weapon or tool we use on ourselves and others.  While a blessing and curse we need to understand it and how it fits into our lives without being controlled or a robot/insect.

If you rely on meditation exercises to illustrate this baggage you will do this forever but that is a part of the process.  First we have to understand it and this is unique to each person.  So no book can be read and magically we say oh, that is it, why not just say so and its all just better.

    • We have emotional influence due to the fact the emotion has been interwoven into us at the time of life experiences and this effect alters our behaviors and even to the way we form understandings and opinions which has shaped our ego as a whole.

We are who we are in part due to this influence.  Good and bad potentially but before we can know ourselves without this influence, we have to see it clearly and in part why emotion is a problem here is because it has hidden its influence from us.

    • It is common for those to not know that emotion has played such a role in their life development wise and if they do it is potential they lack an effective appreciation of the effect and how to affects other aspects of their personality and life as a whole.

    Emotional Influence Analysis (basic)

    1. Start with earliest memories and work forward in life in chronological order or as you remember it.  (life is a building, we want to look at our first building blocks and inspect and fix as necessary)
    2. Do via meditation or whatever is most comfortable for person.
      1. Write them down if necessary.  Often little big issues can be many stepped gaining little bits each time.
      2. Have them see the issue as a spectator perspective without the personal attachment.
        1. No emotion, just see it as if a movie.
        2. Replay it over and over and see all that it is.  This can work to remove the sting and pains associated with the issue.
          1. Difficult experiences can be very hard but help them thru it.  It is normal to take many times until they are able and never push.  They must want to do it and do it on their own.
          2. Help them by helping them maintain control when they review by speaking calmly to them and help them understand what is going on.
          3. When they respond to fear, work to rationalize that fear and how that it is that fear is going to be removed by seeing it for the mask it is as that is all it is, a mask.
            • While still bad experiences will be bad we take away the effect it has had and in so doing we can remove the effect that had in other parts of our life and our ego becomes free of those wrappings.
          4. By seeing past negative experiences with the eyes and mind that we have today we can see and handle that experience differently today and in that can find release.
    3. Examine and see each issue from the youngest to oldest and see how each experience has molded and shaped you.
      1. By doing so we can begin to fix but has to be earliest memories to today.  This is a long process and no one can do it fast.
      2. Generally when they realize they are were victim of stupidity (almost always is) the mechanism of change is at hand.
    4. See how the impact of the emotion from the experience then has affected your life in all ways.
      1. In so doing you can begin to see how some of the ways we may of been were due to the experiences of our past and how we reacted to them.  That experiences effect effects you in ways in an evolutionary way as we grow up.
      2. Most people are a result of their past, they are not free but they think they are.
      3. Do this process and in tandem with the meditation exercise you can see the difference in almost magical ways.
        1. When this works their views and behaviors will alter.  If ethical and moral person those directions tend to come better but if unethical they only learn focus and effective mannerisms.
        2. FYI - These are the type of people I do not like going up against in life as they are capable, few truly are this though.

The video below is a good illustration of the feeling one can get at the realization of being free from a negative influence that has affected and them.  This unwinding is a great effect but if incorrect it can work the other way too.

    • Morality and ethics matter as those are the reigns that will shape once emotion is removed as a main factor.
    • Pick your fruit wisely is my greatest advice.

    A

    Little Bio Part

What I call part 1 for me.

Meditation aspects I speak had enabled me to manage many difficult aspects of life and enabled me to be focused and hidden.  It enabled me to have the tools I needed in my life to be me if that makes any sense to you.  It was more luck from my perspective that I turned out how I did rather than other life choices.  While both successful I am confident morality would of been in question.

What it did not do for me is teach about responsibility and the wisdom of such things but oh the stories I have that few should believe but are very true.

What I call part 2 for me.

The frog.  The writing I did after and sent is true today as then but basically is where I learned about ego (why I speak heavy on that at times), have no worries and decided perhaps I am not overly bat shit crazy.  It gave me part 2 or the next puzzle piece.  Crazy I know and I am fine with that.  I do not care the opinion of others as they do not matter as I smile when I go to bed.  I look forward to the day all do!

    What I call part 3

Cultural healing and life.  We doing it.  I have no idea why and is more like I am watching myself doing it.  I am glad you are here and I have no idea what to expect other than some dusty spot about 4 people look at and for me, that is enough!

    :homer-head-xray-smiley-emoticon:

    Reflection

Take this further and you can lay the basis to become a very powerful person and in that, I have caution.  It takes more than that as you have to have the capability and skills too but this does not necessarily lead to good things.

    • I see this similarly to mind altering experiences and that is not for everyone and you cannot help those who are not true to it.
      • Great for some.
      • Horrific for others.
      • Not a big deal for others.

I see clearly what people are and I have had nothing but contempt for most of humanity during my life.  Thus, my life is a rather lonely one because I see what most are and they are not good humans but this does not equate to evil or bad people.  Just those who are not moral or ethical past their wants and I have no time but this is almost all who read this.

I see it now as just unripe fruit on an indeterminate fruiting tree.  So I do not worry about the unripe but when a ripe fruit is ready to be picked then do what you can but beware of eating unripe fruits.

I still dislike what I see in humanity but I no longer have contempt nor disgust towards humanity and is precisely the reason why we make Cultural Healing and Life!

Well that is my take on this and I am convinced I am bat shit crazy but I will take it!

    :petting-owl-smiley-emoticon:

In the end, expect the illustration, pet the owl.  We are the kid and most are the girl in the booth....

We will be largely ignored and viewed as odd to being a pain, but I will take it.

    Read The Small Print!

What we speak on here sounds like medical advice and stuff but this is not the case.

This is life advice that we live by and as we figure out for ourselves and while it may or may not appear that I am giving medical advice I am not.  Any appearance is simply a mannerism or a description of a concept.

I recommend following all appropriate medical directions as appropriate.  This is just a discussion for those with such interest and I tell you again, I think I might be bat shit crazy.  so take that for what it is worth.

We thank you for your understanding.

@Hempy u are a philosopher:) some of ur sentences are so powerful that they cut deep in my bones.

-this "seeing thing" could be a real miracle during practicing..

Very important to understand the steps...

when u call in to ur screen anything...

do it like planting a seed

for a good start  make a good, friendly environment (basically in ur mind)!!!!

    and let it flourish!

(dont try to tell to a carrot seed how to be a carrot...and never try to force it to be pumpkin.. because u just wasting ur energy:)

practicing imagination or dreaming will teach u how to see at a better and very different way.

Many people find it interesting and special when they understand how "blind" people can see by using their other senses.  We tend to think of ourselves like some great thing but we are simple (complex devices) but at the end of the day we are not so complex nor grande.

Think how energy flows.  All we are and exist in just varied forms and temperatures/properties of energy in some type of instance or stage/thing.  Like water, energy will flow and generally to the path of least resistance.

    • Emotions and behaviors are paths of least resistance but are not always the wisest choice but when energies flow in those direction it can be very hard for people to control that.  For some as hard as changing the flow of an oncoming flood.  So we must go deeper as reflective or controlling type of actions/behaviors created to attempt to control that (often anger or other negative emotions) are ineffective.  We have to be true to solutions and not a gimmick.
      • That is also in part the imprisonment but we construct our prisons on top of those foundations.

I kind of see it like this, we screwed up and lost our instruction manuals.  So we have to learn ourselves and their are so many of us and our wacky wacky ways is one massive impediment but being the wily creatures we are come up with some neat and shiny stuff and this furthers pulls us in other bizarre directions.

Today, if their was ever a meaning in life for us we lost it or perhaps we are merely the sensory ends of the universe trying to figure out what it is.  If Timothy Leary couldnt figure it out and when the gods are in the books we can only do one thing.  (I say that meaning no genuine direction.)

To be us, but in doing so, we cannibalize each other but perhaps that is part of the process of our development.  So I speak to be free but I mean it in terms for many ways and not just in terms of physical imprisonment.  I believe when we learn our selves we can become free but in so doing we also learn a truth.  What we truly as when one becomes truly free they become powerful and if they choose to be a certain way.  This is why the ethics and morals must be part or you will become very effective and achieve results in areas you focus.

So how to be free, this is my take on that.

    1. Learn and know you, this takes forever I believe.
      1. Understand emotion, this is what controls most people and is the influence that harms the most.  This is like yin/yang in a way and as a blessing and a curse.
        1. Emotion is necessary but it should not control your direction in life but more of a an (advice) mechanism.  It takes true strength when emotion is heavy on us but this is countered by addressing weak areas of our lives.
          1. Example: Anxiety can be a condition from not addressing other issues in life and it comes out in that form.
          2. If emotion is an issue for you, become educated on it and take a look it at it with that view.
      2. Control "your" behaviors when influenced by anything other intelligent decision.
        1. If your not a kid, do not act like you are if you do stupid things and act foolish in harmful ways.
      3. Do not fear reality.  Unless you need to turn to tail and run for your literal safety, fear is a draining thing that works to diminish with the view towards survival.  Today we do not have strong grasps on our emotions as we should and fear sometimes takes a bigger role than is merited.
        1. We have at times taken worry and fear and melded them into the same meaning.  This can for some make the issue appear and feel much larger than it is.
        2. You are the part of the highest intelligent life we have found and we look pretty darn hard to find other life in our universe.  We have conquered all areas for which we have put effort and desire.  What you have today and take for granted every day would be considered blessings from a god, miracles and what have you.  From ease of obtaining shelter, food, water, heat and cold no matter all the other fancy.  You education level surpasses most who have lived before you.
        3. Do not fear what things may or may not really be.  It matters not in the end if you unable to be handle what you find.
    2. Learn and know all around the responsibilities you have.
      1. Not having this can make people anxious and unstable in the end.
      2. Be educated and prideful in what you do.  Do not just go thru the motions or you become an ant or insect follower.  I am not saying all become leaders and whatnot but simply to be truly qualified and take pride in what you do as this is part of a happy life.  If you are at work and have questions and those questions limit your effectiveness, get better as their is suffering in that you do not likely appreciate.
    3. Be effective with all in life but moral and ethical.
      1. Dont be a fool but an intelligent leader of your family or whatever dynamic you have.
      2. If just you, your future is your family.  Live within boundaries that enables a future or your future will be part of your prison, literally to figuratively.
      3. We made mistakes in our past for sure.  Once we learn from that, those chains are to be taken off.  If they are not then visit the issue and learn from it correct.  If still issue, make sure all that is left is for you to remove the unlocked chains.  When we learn and never do again and work for others to be correct we amend.

    Whats it mean?

Not my job to figure that one out but we all get a ticket to that answer.  Until then, my advice is to live a free life and do right by you and yours in all.  Start with becoming free from yourself.  Then take on the rest.

    • Life dont owe you anything.
    • Other than for basically humans born in certain areas, life experiences in nature is not really all that great, life and death always around the corner in nature and being a baby, sick and old is a bad time with real monsters probably trying to eat you.  Now look at your petty stuff.   See what I mean.......

Life is merited to be remembered, ask the rocks, so respect it. ~Hempyfan

    hello guys,

I wont write long pages explaining the WHY.. but I will be happy to talk about all night if some of u will say I HAVE DONE IT!

the WHY... adults usually able to see only what is previously programmed on them...but the world is much bigger than that..

Programming:  i mean when somebody told u this is THIS that is THAT... "we call it...etc"...

Everything is just a program what u except from somebody... without "real understanding"

... so I stop explaining hahha.. just try to push u out from ur prison:)

EXERCISE: make a try to see something what u have no words for it.  I bet most of u cant see anything more... because of this most people come to the conclusion... there is nothing more to see haha ( stop reading if u want to stay in the SAFE ZONE= UR OWN PRISON)

1, visualize with close eyes blue light

OBSERVE THE PROCESS WHAT ARE U DOING...

u try to SEE something what is not there (yet)

at first it is very hard to see= put ur focus on a thing what is not programmed before..

u try to look it up from ur memories.... STOP doing that... u just wasting ur energies.

instead of that u can gain more power if u understand the process.. by observing.

Observing I mean... on ur imagination screen ( i dont know better word for it.. think about it as a simple tool to the HYPERSPACE) look for any blue sign.. observe the shape of it... its dynamic...the changing size...:)

    Enjoy practicing..

if u get familiar with this I will continue.. Karma up:)

  15. This is a biographical, artistic telling of how the inspiration and beginning of cultural healing and life happened.  This is written in a different perspective as Deborah died unexpectedly and it is simply easier for me to write in that manner as it does hurt but I desire to tell this.  The following is authentic and true.  The songs and videos have deep meaning and fit so well it is almost like it was designed for it.

All respect to the artist as it is they that help add another layer that illustrates the emotion and feelings that is genuine for the illustration of how we were and I ask to please support the artist direct.  Cultural Healing and Life is not designed to make profit in any way nor will it as this site is a sacred working gift from the hearts of Jon and Deborah and we hope it becomes the entity of positive in some way or whatever it is is for you.  In that way, we all still live.  The advice of Deb would be to listen to the tree.  :spiritual-tree-smiley-emoticon:   ~JJ the gardener.

The story of Jon and Deb.

    and the beginning of

    Cultural Healing and Life!

The Strumbellas The Strumbellas - Long Road

    Deborah's Back Story

Deborah started college in 1986 with four children. She graduated from Meramec Community College with History Honors and an A.A.  In 1988 she graduated from Fontbonne University with Dean’s List & Phi Lambda Theata and a 3.9 G.P.A

Her second marriage at the time disintegrated due to her husband attempting to utilize controlling religious views and practices which was driven to influence Deborah to quit college direction and to be become a specific type of house wife.

During this time Deborah's husband pledged to give the church Deborah's house which she had bought and had title. She corrected this in the church at the time.  The church then sided with Deborah's husband and attempted to talk her out of her continued education and personal to professional  betterment which thus caused her to leave the church and become shunned by virtually all associated with her and the church for her efforts.  She was abandoned without support (some limited support from mother and siblings) nor friends but she endured her and her children.

    • Deborah would remain true to her beliefs her entire life never turning away from God but she would not trust those of the cloth again.

Deborah worked as a secondary education teacher and was recognized and awarded for her teaching abilities during this time. While shes struggled for her education she did not allow the family and life struggles to diminish her.  It was in her nature to do the best she could as it was the only way she knew of doing something.

Later Deborah would meet and later marry a prestigious chemical engineer professor at the University of Delaware and she put the money down and made the payments on a new family home from the sale of her first house.  While they had no children of their own, her husband raised and cared for Deborah's children as if he was.  Most of their middle-school to high-school years were in this family dynamic.  They were a loving family.

While assisting her husband, Deborah wrote the grant that enabled the creation of the glue that was used to attach the tiles to the space shuttle. She also assisted in obtaining grants for the creation of a method to break down oil spilled in bodies of water.

    • She was specifically credited with enabling complex scientific terminology, scientific explanations and other confusing and complex aspects understandable to the governing bodies that awarded such grants.

    • It is in this skill that made her unique from other grant writers who often wrote in a certain style but was not as effective.

Deborah additionally worked as a substitute teacher but due to low pay for teachers at the time she found better economic employment with a law firm & after that law firm merged with another she found employment working as a surgical assistant for 5 and a half years.

In 1996 Deborah accepted an opportunity to work with a Delaware commission that catered to community needs and was the Executive Director for over 14 programs plus “Learn and Serve” which Deborah personally wrote the grant to bring the program into the State of Delaware.

    • Today the programs are still going strong with 21 programs statewide.

    • Jealously from a politician over Deborah's work (ordered to say the politician did the work and Deborah did not give in to this demand) forced Deborah out of the commission. (All internal documents of proof we have.)

Deborah, while studying and researching art became friends & Biographer for Allen Midgette who worked with Andy Warhol in the late 50’s and 60’s. Deborah also published a book, Allen Midgette Contemporary Artist and was a contributing author within other publishing's. She assisted Allen Midgette with various art grants and friendship and was friendly with many of the people in the shadow of Andy Warhol.

During this time frame Deborah went to France to study art under Ultra Violet. Ultra Violet was also part of Andy Warhol’s entourage and muse of Salvador Dali. Deborah helped create art that sold for high financial figures at a show they did in France.

Deborah at this time had earned a master degree and was only a few credit hours from a PH.D. However the PH.D would not assist her professionally nor economically so she elected to not pursue that last collegiate degree.

Her marriage would not work out but it was no ones fault than life itself.  I will finish here with her words from a poem she wrote shortly before Jon and Deborah met and is reflective how she viewed the entirety of her life at the time.  She shared this poem with Jon as that he would better understand her better.

    Prison of Iron

    Unfetter my wild heart

    Parched flames of desire

Ever glaring, midnight moonless, besieging walls,

Ever watching, lest the hell-chains slip

To lie silent on the frigid, footworn, stones,

    Captive in this dismal cage,

Mute to the swell and fall of haunting desire,

    Burrowed deep within my casket

Where burning love flickers to forget

    All hope,

Realized, radiant love, shall it ever allude my touch?

Or shall I curse the day I was born in bondage

    To relish fragrant apparitions

    Of unrequited love.

    Jon's Back Story

Jon served honorably in the Air Force (before, during and after the first gulf war) and then went to work for the federal government working for the Defense Commissary Agency.  A grocery store for the military located at Bitburg AFB, Germany.

Jon was also good friends with Dee, an American business owner and friend who played a positive role in Jon's life when he was at his most down he almost made a foolish error and Dee overheard a stupid plan and he gave them the money to fix the situation.  Jon later went to repay Dee at another business he owned and they became friends for many years afterwards and Dee would be almost a father type of figure towards Jon at times.

    • Dee was caring and helpful to those who were good people and needed help and he often assisted those in need quietly and without always being asked.  This aspect of humanity would remain with Jon and play a larger role later in Jon's own life choices.

One night Jon's mother, whom he had a negative relationship with, called him and told him she was without food, couldn't pay the bills or wash herself (she had an accident and was incapable at the time) and that Jon's father was living somewhere else and the kids (Jon's sisters) were running wild.

Upon hearing this he said if this is true he will resign his job, leave his life in Germany and come home personally to take care of this. She said it was true and Jon followed through on his word.

Once Jon returned home he found these descriptions to be false and Jon left the family home and was going to return to Germany. However an Aunt talked him out of going back and Jon agreed to stay in USA due to the seemingly odd aspect that Jon did not call anyone in the family to verify which he normally would have done. So Jon just let it go as fate and did not return to Germany.

Jon filed for unemployment in Pennsylvania but he took a job the day the check came in and he never picked it up as he had a job working for a relative in a fair food business. After doing that for most of the season Jon took another fair job and traveled with a fair working a basketball game of skill for the rest of the season.

After the season Jon traveled to NewCastle, Delaware and stayed with his sister. During this time Jon went to check out a business and that is where Jon and Deb met.

Poem from Deborah written to Jon

    The Way I love You

No one wil ever marvel you, as in

    the way I love you.

    Silken words you weave incisively

    into the chasm,

    that abysmal grotto

    that is bent

    on the annihilation

    of my soul.

    Your sovereign hand apprehend the

thief as you lead me to exodus.

In this way I love you,

    for your gifted perception

in the way you counsel and guide me.

    Yearning years, resigned

    I waited for a man

    to be equally united.

    Impatient, obliging, never loyal

    to my secret self,

    I cheated myself until

now, when I feel the way I love you.

The impenetrable pass of my heart is

    rent,

    crushed

    by your

strong nature I speak in your spectral eyes.

I love you in a way that no

    other

    will.

    Completely

    The way I love you.

    Monday, June 15, 1998 – M. Deborah Beris

The start of Jon & Deb

Deborah and her husband would separate and divorce. Deborah left her husband and financial security to be with Jon. Their love was a powerful entity that could not be ignored by each other even though this was not the best moral choices to make due to Deborah being married.  Deborah left her marriage not due to Jon but due to their particular relationship issues.

    • Her husband at the time was a good man worthy of respect and other than her arm being hurt (She was harmed and had to wear a sling) as he grabbed her arm while she was leaving (not abusive but a genuine accident in an emotional moment not intended for injury) he was a correct man towards her.

Jon and Deborah would travel to Missouri for a short period of time while things settled down. A short period of time after Deborah returned to Delaware and later Jon joined.

Soon after Jon came to live with Deborah, one of Deborah's sons attempted to murder Jon with a shotgun.  He spent time in Jail and would later make a good professional and financial life and start a family of his own.

    • This particular son of Deborah's would continue to attempt to attack Jon upon sight at all opportunities in life as of this writing.

    • While he was in prison Jon cooked for and ensured his daughter was well cared for as her and the child's mother lived with them for a period of time.

    • Jon personally ensured she was cleaned from fleas which she was infested with. They did not make a big deal of it.

    • Jon and Deborah looked after (their grandchild) as they would any other.

      • Jon and Deborah would display her photos as she grew up and became an adult.  Jon would not see her again since the time she moved overseas with her mother who married a military man.  Jon kept up with her life from afar and via discussions with Deborah gave input with Deborah's spoken advice on subjects regarding her.

      • She is all grown up now but to Jon, she is still the little girl in his heart and is always welcome but he knows he will not see her again and his likely forgotten and/or misunderstood due to parental influences on the view towards Jon.

Deborah's youngest son had married and later they bought a house.

    • Jon personally made the food for the wedding which was held at Jon and Deborah's home.
    • Later when the couple bought a home Jon was asked to come and see the new house and Deborah's son who attacked Jon before came to the house (likely bad timing and not premeditated) and attempted to attack Jon but the son's wife or fiance stopped him and got him around the corner while Jon and Deborah left.
    • Jon would never return to the youngest son's home or any other home of his again.

    Work and Health

Jon and Deborah would work at Community Systems inc, which is a not for profit company that runs group homes for the mentally handicapped. Jon's health was bad and thus he was not able to consistently maintain a regular work week and is the start of some hard times health wise for Jon.

    • Jon and Deborah's work helped to transform the company which had been required to pass an accreditation due to issues with the state in poor past performance.

    • As a result of Jon and Deborah's work Community Systems Inc, would obtain its highest CARF rating on record for CARF for any organization at that point in time.

    • Community Systems Inc, would later betray Deborah and as a result Jon left Community Systems Inc in support of his wife.

Deborah left Community Systems Inc, and went to work for Delaware Cardiovascular. She was a vice president and responsible for all locations and personnel.

Jon and Deborah created a side business "M. Deborah Studios" which created personalized movies from pictures and existing videos.  They also made family orientated cook books and personal books for family members such as having their stories in a book for their family and similar special occasions.  They made unique personal and business media products.

    • Eventually this service would dramatically slow during an economic down turn as businesses no longer were making videos for their projects and family clients shrank due to technology coming to a threshold one could use a low cost application on a computer to create similar results.
      • While not an equal in quality the price difference was too great to overcome.  In time they would close M. Deborah Studios.

During this time the USS Cole, a navy destroyer was bombed and as the military brought back the dead servicemen to the mortuary at Dover AFB the military did not allow the media on the base to photograph so the media gathered around the fence by the road and this odd gathering distracted a driver who hit Deborah from behind.

    • Deborah's was visiting a new office location in Dover Delaware and a while sitting at a red light in front of Dover AFB she was hit from behind by a large truck and totaled Deborah's car and severely injured Deborah for which she would never fully recover.

    • Deborah did not sue the military as they did not want to do that but they ask their lawyer to discuss the issue with the base commander.  They do not know if such a discussion about the risks took place but years later the traffic pattern in front of the base were redone that would prevent that type of accident again.  This was likely an independent decision outside of the accident.

As a result of this accident and injury Deborah would suffer a broken neck and broken back at multiple points. Her initial doctor wanted to do immediate surgery. Deborah was adamant about no surgery due to a deep feeling against it and this started issues with doctors and with her insurance company which their was unprofessional and unethical behavior on both the doctor and insurance companies part.

    • Documents would later show the insurance company acted improperly from the moment of the accident and how they would interact with Deborah's doctors by attempting to dictate care per their interest and not a medically correct one.

Deborah would seek a second, third and fourth opinion but could never get two opinions that matched in reason but they did mostly recommend surgery but for different reasons.

Eventually due to friend of friends connections Deborah was seen by the head of a department at a prestigious medical college. This doctor agreed with Deb's view and said not to do surgery and to use a stretch machine over time to help correct the issues.

    • This was the correct the treatment and she would become better for it but she had suffered physically, emotionally and financially for her efforts to be treated as a patient and not as product with the sole interest to obtain the highest insurance payments (the doctor.)

    • Deborah's doctor at the time would literally throw a fit about not going to his partner for a second opinion and later he would uncontrollably run around the room throwing a fit as if a child upon finding a differing opinion which came from the head of John Hopkins University for the department for which she was scene.

    • The insurance company accused her of pain pill abuse as she did not want the surgery, had a prestigious medical opinion to not do the surgery and her desire to correct the issue with the long term stretching. (She was later proved correct.)

      • Deborah's sons had tried to influence their mother in having the surgery siding with the doctors (without them even speaking to a doctor) advice, rather than the John Hopkins opinion, some of them pursued this discussion with her even when obtaining positive results from physical therapy.

      • It was not the issue of disagreement but was the tone and belittlement she endured for which she would remain silently disappointed in that behavior in those who acted in such a way.

      • Jon told her it was because she was with him and that should expected similar behaviors and other passive aggressive emotions and actions as their disgust of Jon was translating inappropriately towards their mother.

      • She would endure this for the sake of being able to visit her grandchildren.

Deborah was in immense daily pain and agony and she developed RSD (Raynaud's disease) which would never leave her and she suffered daily for the rest of her life.

    • At the time RSD was not generally accepted in the medical community nor at the Christian Hospital in Delaware and many doctors would ignore her visible issue at the hospital forcing her to cruelly suffer far greater than necessary. This was action was similar to torture without merited justification.

The insurance company would call Deborah's doctors as she would find a new doctor after the last one threw a childish fit and they would tell them she had been abusing pills which was not true and not based any merited reasoning.

    • Jon and Deborah would have to go far into PA to find a pain management practice that would not bow down to the insurace companies tactics.

    • Eventually Deborah found a local doctor who would stand up to the insurance company and he would be a saviour for her.

      • Later the insurance company would pay for this abuse as Jon documented her suffering hours by hours and daily for many months and before walking into court the insurance agreed to their terms.

    Deborah suffers more bad health

Jon nursed Deb back to health and after years of physical therapy and as medically recommended from John Hopkins University they regained some level normality. Then shortly after finding a balance managing the injury with day to day living Deborah began to have issues with a hiatal hernia.

    • However, the hospital initially misread the hiatal hernia scan.

Deborah was consistently hospitalized for long periods of time due to extensive suffering.

    • The misreading of the initial hiatal hernia test was used by many doctors and thus they chose to diagnose incorrect and even accused Deborah of having health issues from being fat.

      • Deborah gained weight due to the hiatal hernia, naturally and otherwise she is and was slim with good health and this was ignored by the doctor. They fired a lot of doctors.

Eventually after many lengthy stays in the hospital in two states a doctor redid the test and it showed the hiatal hernia and it was very serious.

    • A re-look at the first test showed they misread it.

Deborah would go thru an operation to repair the hiatal hernia and during the operation the surgeon nicked her chest cavity. While Deborah was recovering in her hospital room within a few days of the operation an infection took hold but was not recognized by the hospital.

Deborah called Jon in a great amount of pain and told him that she complained of extreme pain to the nurse and the nurse came and closed the door as if she was a problem patient.

    • While on the phone she stood up and a splashing sound was heard by Jon. This sound was Deborah's chest and it rotted and fell on the floor.

Deborah was placed in intensive care and the head doctor watched her as she had a breathing mask on but might need a bigger mask but he did not think she would survive putting it on so if needed he wanted to make the call for the best time if needed. He watched her all night.

    • During this time Deborah would say she was visited by an old sea captain who told her it was not her time yet and she started to get better.

Deborah would go on to have a mesh abdomen that would slowly heal. She would suffer intense pain and nausea for the rest of her life.

    • They did not sue anyone as the doctor who saved her and did the best care possible after the accidental nick of the abdomen so we let it go as her being alive when she easily would not have been was enough for them. The injury was an accident and not negligence.

Very few people would do this as they had a potential law suite with negligence and with pain and suffering could of ended with substantial financial ruling but ethically they could not do that and have to go after those who saved Deborah life.  Sometimes life is hard and it speaks for the measure of a person when they make such during times of hard.

Some would say it was a stupid decision to not sue especially as later in life financially they would suffer but it was an ethical and moral question to Deborah and they would do what the could to get through life and keep their ethics and morals regardless of ones opinion on the subject.  No matter the financial position later in life, this choice was never second guessed by Deborah and Jon.

    • This horrific situation physically affected Deborah but it did not change who she was.

    Finding employment with medical issues

As a result of all their medical expenses and lack of regular income Deborah had tapped her retirement funds while a several years search for employment commenced.

    • Deborah would consistently make it the last round of interviews but she was always second to getting hired.  Her health issues and age was typically the problematic issue.  This went on for several years.

She eventually took a position with a staffing agency to work at a prestigious patent law firm in a nearby city.  They would soon fire her as soon as she started having health issues but they said she made a bad choice for a trivial thing.  Karma has said hello to them I am sure.

Later she would find a job at a chiropractic office and she would not last long as the office manager was threatened by Deborah's qualifications compared to hers.  Deborah had no interest in the office managers Job.

The School of Life The School of Life  - Resilience In Hard Times

    Student Loans

Deborah would take a job with student loan processing company as they hired a group of disabled people in essence to illustrate that they are a good business entity who hires disabled people too.

    • Deborah hated the aspect of the Job where people abuse and say hurtful and demeaning things to the collectors.
      • She grew a thick skin and this is part of being a collector for student loans.
    • Deborah was consistently at the top ratings for collectors and regularly rewarded.
      • She viewed her Job as helping borrowers and not "just" as collectors.
      • She would look correctly at the borrowers finances and put in a realistic reduction request as to bring the borrower back into good standing and be a realistic adjustment.
        • This is why she did that job until she passed.  She cared for those people who truly wanted to do right but were in a financial position that it was not possible to honor earlier agreements that in truth, few understood correctly when they signed.

Deborah would work their until they split into two companies.

    • She would work with the one split company for many years but they would eventually fire her due to her health issues but before they could even file a legal/civil action Deborah was hired at the other split company.
    • She would work their until she passed away bringing relief to many borrowers.
      • Almost daily she would come home and tell Jon about the people she helped by getting their interest rates reduced, how they cried and so very thankful as we are talking a significant amount of money on the part of the borrower.
      • She was grateful she was able to help in such ways but she was also harassed by some of her managers from time to time as they prefer quick collections rather than longer time consuming rate reductions.
      • The collecting system is managed in a way it punishes collectors for doing rate reductions and/or they do not approve it for a variety of reason and on the collectors.
        • Deborah's has been scolded by low level managers for doing so many rate reductions but the superiors were always supportive but it is the managers reacting to pressures and not being effective managers.
        • Deborah could not be bullied or intimated so she could stand up to inappropriate management, few others can.
    • Deborah enjoyed working with the people at the company but specifically the ability to help others and she also assisted her fellow collectors in being better and correct collectors.
      • Deborah was famous for bringing in her coleslaw and Jon's chili.
      • While she hated going in the morning due to knowing all the problem she was going to face she enjoyed coming home to Jon and her cats and telling of her day in which she performed financial miracles in loan rate reductions on a virtual daily basis.
      • She was proud of that and so was Jon and the cats!

    The medicinal beginning.

Jeremy Jensen  Jeremy Jensen - Rising Appalachia- Medicine

Jon's health was also not good at most times from diverticulitis but he also suffered from a type of condition from having too many concussions and this mimicked amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).  When Jon would have issues from this Deborah would make a special tea for Jon when he would have stress issues and to help his kidneys function.

    • Deborah combined over 70 ingredients and consulted with many herbalist and oriental medicine practitioners.  She spent many hours at libraries and in consultation on this tea.  It is referred to as stress tea or a stronger version called pissing tea.

When these health issues were at their worst Jon could not get out of bed and he was in immense pain. Pain medication does not agree with Jon and he would become forcefully ill with nausea and thus pain medication generally makes a situation worse than help.

Deborah one day came to Jon with an old wooden pipe and being unknown to Jon she had grown a cannabis plant with the hopes it would help Jon, at this time cannabis was not a part of their lives but Deborah being desperate to help her husband took an action out of desperation.  An action to assist in relieving the suffering of a loved one.  In that perspective, this was not a wrong act.

Add on the experience and emotion of watching Jon deteriorate and suffer greatly one should be able to understand how such an act by a desperate and caring person happened.  She did what she did out of love and caring for her husband as she could see that Jon could not find relief in traditional medicine.

    • For Jon, it was a great act! This aspect of caring would later play a large role with Jon and cannabis.

The use of cannabis did help and as Jon regained his health he took over growing the plant. Jon's condition made him not able to endure regular daily physical stress and simply walking around at the house would cause Jon to violently gag. He also suffered very painful leg cramps on a daily basis

    • He was stuck in a cycle of regaining and diminishing in strength and just going up and down some stairs could cause a gagging attack that would force Jon to be bedridden for a day or two and if stress was not reduced he would worsen and lose the ability to walk or he would walk like an old person all bent over.

The medical use of cannabis helped Jon obtain a degree of stability by managing his nausea and he slowly regained more endurance and better health over time and it is Jon's view that cannabis did play a significant role in enabling Jon to be able to endure the daily routine of life so that his health could begin to improve.

    • This aspect of cannabis would later play a significant role in the future of Jon and cannabis.

Vaporizers for the sick and terminal

Jon was a non tobacco smoker and thus the traditional means of smoking was difficult for Jon's lungs to manage on a regular basis so he looked into other methods of taking cannabis and found the early workings of the vaporizer industry. For a time Jon would speak at an online forum for vaporizers when their was no such thing at the time.

    • Jon helped promote and played a small role in the new industry by talking on vaporizers online and in person often introducing vaporizers for the first time in talks with people who had terminal and significant health conditions within the state Jon resided.
    • No cannabis was used or given during these talks, it was about the vaporizer as means of intake being cleaner than smoking it.

Later due to Jon's work within the vaporizer industry, vaporizer companies would sometimes send Jon vaporizers to review and he would often be allowed to loan and/or gift those vaporizers to a suffering or terminally ill person for their use. Jon only supplied the vaporizer and instructions on how to use it at this time.

While people may have varied opinions on doing such a thing. A significant benefit was that the terminally ill person could gain a period of quality time with their loved ones and have good end of life type of conversations where as when they were on the narcotic heavy pill medications the effects of those options created a state where the person was not suffering but was largely removed from such interactions due to drowsiness, nausea and/or inability to coherently interact.

Another benefit was often that a family discussion would revolve around the suffering aspects of the patient (stated for illustration of person in conversation) and not the quality type of discussions either participant wanted.

    • In perspective, when people were on the pills people they had less endurance for company and to participate fruitfully in deeper discussions compared to cannabis use in my experience and view based from discussions with the suffering persons family members.

This aspect and the other experiences with cannabis would play a further and significant role in the life of Jon and cannabis.

Easy Eye Sound Easy Eye Sound - Dan Auerbach - Shine On Me

    The Crime

At this time Jon medically took care of himself but in time people who knew Jon and Deborah the closest would at times discuss their health issues and at times included the topic of cannabis.

    • No one knew of Jon's medication at that time.

During certain discussions Jon and Deborah might talk on their experiences with the plant and sometimes a small gift was given and depending on the effectiveness of that small gift it would potentially be a one and done interaction or become a regular medical usage depending on the effectiveness and situation.  Each situation was different.

    • By gift, it was a gift and no money or compensation in anyway was accepted during this time.  This all combined at this time was a small amount and it did not yet take away from what was already being made for Jon's medicine.
      • This would soon change.

These people were truly injured, sick and terminal and suffering.  This was not used for recreational enjoyment.  They found hope and relief via Jon's work and he could appreciate suffering and not being able to find relief from the traditional pharmaceutical pain and symptom relief options by main stream medicine.

Helping people in this way, as Jon would say is "the pat on the back I take" "as they cant take that (the benefit they helped make) away"  Life sort of made them victim of circumstance and their own ethical and moral views and emotions perhaps, but they were not criminals.

They cared for whom they helped as it was the suffering that was their concern more so than repercussions when they were faced with these life choices.  It is easy to judge off the cuff so to speak but it is another thing to be in those shoes and face such needs for help when you have the unique ability to help.

For Jon and Deborah, their was no question but a dread they did have in knowing they now become something else.  While it seems they made a choice, for them it was merely being true to their ethics and morals they live by and thus this never was a choice but more of a path that life placed before them with no other direction to take.

    • Jon and Deborah made a decision to take a direct action to help based on not just the need of the individuals, their closeness to Jon and Deborah but also because they have seen true benefits from cannabis not by opinion but by experience and most importantly how effective the medicine helped them.

To some this was a crime, to others they were seen as blessings from god doing what no other people could do for them.  To their country and state, they were essentially an enemy due to laws that helped create the situation enabling the real suffering by cannabis being an illegal commodity, at the time.

At the time the state Jon and Deborah lived in and for the people they assisted did allow medical cannabis but only from state sponsored dispensaries (not effective solution for a variety of reasons) but the high pricing and difficulty in finding quality doctors who cared for their patients who would risk prescribing it as cannabis was still not a mainstream option accepted yet across the medical industry.

    • The combination was an effective barrier for those Jon helped in receiving help from the "legally controlled system."  In addition, many of these people would not easily know how to obtain street cannabis or from a traditional illegal source as the risk of them become victims increases.
    • I am not speaking for or against aspects, I am just stating the perspective as it was and perhaps still is as they seen it.

Jon and Deborah stood up when they were needed and called upon.

    • No regrets except for the fact the situation was needed in the first place and this fault is with the medical and legal views which often are incorrectly influenced and in that is the cause of this unnecessary suffering.  This is not pointed out as a justification or an excuse but an illustration of fact.
    • It is up to each person to weigh that themselves.

    Expansion & Finances

As time progressed more people came to Jon and Deborah and the need grew bigger than what was currently grown became an issue.  As a result Jon learned about growing indoors in a serious horticultural direction becoming knowledged in growing environments, lighting, plant physiology, plant nutrition and many horticulture aspects of plants.

Jon in his youth did yard work for a lady who was a serious horticultural hobbyist and had high value and award winning plants in her backyard that people would travel and see yearly. Through her Jon was introduced to growing plants and in a quality way. The foundation of learning horticulture for Jon was due to her teachings and influence.

    • Years later after she passed away a lawyer would buy her house and make a parking lot in her garden. I am confident he had no idea. I would beleive it the place is haunted!

Jon and Deborah understood the need was increasing but they did not want to ramp up production quickly as they wanted to ensure the highest quality genuinely as this is medicine and not a ramping up yield for a profit.

    • Special considerations were taken to maintain purity of plant and grow as natural as possible. Jon gained knowledge and become proficient in hydroponics of various types and growing in soil-less and soil mediums.

    • Jon is learn-id in natural farming and some permaculture aspects and techniques but would be considered a serious student over all.

    • Jon is learn-id in pest and disease management without chemical pesticides and natural farming friendly techniques.

They would then take this knowledge and apply it as they ramped up to meet the needs. These are not things a for profit enterprise would do.

During the time Jon had diverticulitis he also grew seedless tomatoes and would give anyone who had diverticulitis and could not eat seeds free seedless tomatoes when he had available.

    • Jon became sort of famous for this for awhile and was once mentioned in a Burpee catalog for seedless tomato seeds.

During this time they assisted in the managing of the suffering from cancer of all types, aids, lung issues, the occasional injury and the unfortunate terminally ill. The benefit that they obtained from the Jon's work was precious to them and it was sacred to Jon and Deb.

    • It is odd that such a thing can be looked down on.  In that moment they would feel freedom fleeting as such a thing should not be need to be hidden.

It is understandable that people would think they did this for money as Jon and Deb had significant financial problems but did not use the cannabis for profit. They also paid tax on it as an extra business on their taxes.

The following list some aspects of their financial situation.

    • No large screen TV's
    • No fancy anything,

    • Literally a leaking roof into the living room.

    • The driveway needed immediate concrete repair.

    • No vacation trips with expense.

    • Credit card debt mostly due to paying bills from loss of work.

    • The people they were helping were poor and often elderly on fixed incomes.

    • Virtually a true and genuine not for profit enterprise.

Deborah worked hard every day that she could but her health began to diminish and they were talking about Deborah going on disability as she could not maintain two work weeks in a row without having to call off due to illness.  Then June came.

June and the end of an era.

In early June, Jon and Deborah was invited to Tennessee to visit an old military friend of Jon's who bought some land.  Deborah was feeling well enough to but could not attend due to not having available vacation days from using sick days due to her instability health wise.  As a result Deborah did not go but she was excited for Jon to be able to see his old friend.

    • A few days before Jon returned home Deborah passed away.

    photo.jpgtheavettbrothers

It is believed at this time that she did not test her blood sugar and took too high a dose of insulin and she went into a diabetic coma and then she passed away.

No one but Deborah knew that Jon was on a trip.  In part as Jon is a very private person who did not even use a cell phone and that he does not regularly talk with others than Deborah.  However, an uncle was informed of Deborah's passing and thought he might pass on the information to a friend of Jon's that he once met and they exchanged contact information.  By chance that is where Jon was, with that friend.

Jon was informed a few days after Deborah's passing.  In part because that no one knew other than Deborah where I was but their was phone records of Jon talking to Deborah from his friends phone from Tennessee and the return plane information was in her purse and on the table by her purse.  It was clear where Jon was but this information was ignored.

The message to Jon was that Deb died and the police want to speak with him regarding it as would be normal.  Jon calls the detective and tells him where he is and that he will visit the police station on his way home.  Jon also talks about the cats but no one knows anything about the cats, Jon asks the detective to help determine if they are left alone or if they are in an animal control shelter and Jon did not want a situation to get worse by having the animals put down.

    • The cats would later be found in the house and not well cared for.  Deborah's kids put down a lot of food but never changed the cat box nor respected the animals in a manner as she would of have expected.  In this, Deborah would also be genuinely disappointed in them.

Jon was able to contact his lawn guy to pick him up at the airport and then they went to Jon's home where Jon confirmed that law enforcement knew of the medical grow operation.  Jon then went and turned himself in.  He would be out within a few hours as the police understood the situation correctly.

Jon turned himself in to the Newark police department and was charged with possession of a controlled substance in Tier 5 quantity, second-degree conspiracy and possession of marijuana-related drug paraphernalia.

    • These charges were on the day Deb passed.

One Drop Forward - Take my Ganja Away

The police department were for their part respectful and professional.  They understood the situation and genuinely assisted with the painful process of dealing with the law enforcement side of the issue.  This was a welcome surprise and Newark, Delaware police department has Jon's respect and appreciation for the way the whole situation was handled.

Additionally the district attorney is be mentioned and thanked as they did their job correctly and saw the situation what it was rather than to go for a hard prosecution.  A competent and correct process was followed with a correct outcome that is satisfactory to both parties.

Jon would receive no jail time and he will enter the veteran treatment court sometime in January 2018.  This is a two year program.

    :family-picture-smiley-emoticon:

Deborah's kids however would unifying act in many incorrect ways towards Jon at this point in time and this was a shocking surprise how they all treated and acted towards him.

    • Jon and the son who was over the estate would later work out an understanding.
    • If it would of been appreciated how they have acted it is not believed Deborah would of managed her final affairs the way she did.

The following is some but not all the things they did.

    • Her kids tried to prevent Jon from learning where Deborah's body was.
      • Jon had to shame one of the son's in front of a police officer in order to finally get the mortuary and the time.  Initially they only said it would be in the paper tomorrow and that is how they wanted Jon to know.
      • Jon was told that he was not wanted and if he came their would be problems.
      • He was told he was no longer part of the family with hate filled adjectives.
    • Jon said he was coming no matter what and that he did not come back and turn him self in and not see her.  He did everything for Deborah and he was going to see his wife one last time.
      • They said they would try to have her cremated that night to prevent Jon from seeing her and they were not going to show the body anyways and would just be ceremonial.
    • Jon gave a speech and at the end of that speech one son did the right thing and went to talk to the others and they arranged for him to have a private moment several hours after the scheduled time long after everyone else would be gone at the literal end of the day.
      • Jon expected to find a locked and closed funeral home but they did keep their word.
        • By them doing this they stole from their mother's voice at the end.
          • Only Jon knew Deborah so close and more of her life as a whole.  Jon lived with Deb longer than any other person in her life including each of their children.  She was very proud of that and would say it often!
        • By preventing Jon from being able to speak at her funeral by not making it possible for him to be their to do that, they hurt her and her memory for what is real of her and she was far more grande than just a loving mother.  They have no idea who their mother truly was and she was glorious in many ways.
        • The kids diminished her biography, history and what she was purposely due to their hate towards Jon.
        • These insults are stated not as a shame to her children but as a lesson and illustration of what not to do for those who may read this.  Enough pain, please..
    • Jon did not see it but he was told by two people who took him to the funeral home that he was mocked as he wept over his wife.
      • Jon was told specifically non of them would be their but all but one was and no one said a word nor illustrated any other reason for being their other to notice and watch Jon.
      • It is not so much the insult to Jon that hurt Jon but the insult towards their mother.  It is hard to understand how people can profess their love for an individual but then have such hate towards what they loved and cherished.
    • Many things from the house was missing, destroyed and damaged as the kids had three days in house prior to Jon getting home.
      • It was ransacked via drawers, cabinets and belongings of value and it appears some tried to hide some things from others but that Jon's returned thwarted the theft as some vases that packaged and wrapped and hidden under a sofa and these vases were normally disp.  Not really from Jon but from the other siblings.  A list of these findings was left for the son who is over the will.
    • A will exist because Jon insisted.
      • Jon is not in the will per his wishes.
      • Jon insisted Deborah put her kids as beneficiary for life insurance.  She originally wanted to put only Jon.
        • When they agreed to be a couple Jon said he was with Deborah for her and not her stuff.  He meant this even at cost to his own financial betterment.

Jon left everything other than what was from their time together and due to their financial status at the time of Debs passing and after the insults and hurtful and attempted emotional inflicting actions Jon suffered by her kids he left with only the bed, couch, tv, computer, some paintings, the chair she died in, a microwave, refrigerator, as many personal pieces of Deb as Jon could get and that was not destroyed or already stolen by some of her kids and not one penny.

    • All Jon asked for was the will "they stole from the house before Jon returned" and a copy of the death certificate for closure.  To this date this has not been honored.

Jon has done what the family wanted and left.  He is no longer part of their lives and the loss of two grandsons who were treated as such since they day they were born are now gone from his life.  Jon still views himself as their pap, pap but he knows he is no longer welcome nor wanted, as the parents were very clear.  My door, support and heart is always open to those kids.

    • The family business was only discussed not as a shame to her children but as a lesson and illustration of what not to do for those who may read this and find themselves one day in such situations.
      • Stand up and stop the progression of pain during painful family situations in life.  Then perhaps healing can begin in its slow but forward direction.

After all that has happened to Jon, he lost his wife, his grandsons, his way of life, his home and virtually everything but some clothes and memories it should be understood that while he is devastated Jon is still the same old happy guy as no situation or hardship will change his soul and energies.

He has no hate and perhaps is more Buddha in these moments than anything else.  Nothing will change Jon, but he does suffer the passing of his wife and the end of an era and the greatest woman he ever knew.  Other than writing for cultural healing and life it is unsure what awaits Jon but he does not worry as he knows what ever happens he will do his best and he is a happy soul.

    Cultural Healing and Life Begins.

The last gift Deborah bought was a lifetime membership to the us press association as we were about to build this site together, Cultural Healing and Life.  Now it is her spirit with me and all those who choose be part of the community that will carry it forward.

Cultural Healing and Life is not about cannabis.  It is not about Jon and Deborah and they never thought of ever having to really talk on themselves as it has been now.

This is intended to be a source to promote genuinely healing about any topic of reason.  This is about betterment and certainly it is obviously a more grande idea kind of thing than what we likely create or inspire but it is in the spirit and energy of that and perhaps that will have some kind of a positive effect even if we would fail in one fashion or another.  This enterprise is more fate like than anything else for Jon.

    • It is almost like he is watching this happen.

This is not a fast endeavor and will take years to build and for it take on its own life other than what we think it will be but in the end I have no idea if this is anything more than a hobby for a guy who talks to much but we hope to make a difference in betterment in some degree.

Cultural Healing and Life has no hate towards anyone.  We have told our story as to allow you to know who we are and why.  We are about learning, understanding, appreciating, caring, healing and living a free and joyous life and it is in that we can find a healthy love of life for ourselves and perhaps a caring existence for all peoples.

Jon & Deborah and cultural healing and life hope you join us.  It is not about what one brings to the table but that they care and/or have a need.  All genuine people are welcome and wanted.  No matter how little one might think their contribution might be to a subject.  That perspective, view, understanding or what ever it is can and will help others.  In that, your contributions are sacred no matter how small one might view it themselves.  It is our belief, knowledge should not just simply flow but also be free and we genuinely offer you our sincerest appreciation for sharing with us.

Deborah's greatest gift to Jon was that he once only cared about him and her and basically shunned the world.  Today, he cares for all and it is in that energy that I close with this and open cultural healing and life.

    Soil & Recipe

~A Cultural Healing and Life Compilation and Writing

A basic super soil recipe.  Understanding soil mineralization, soil ecosystem and brix in general will help you appreciate this recipe.

This soil is capable of lush growth and bountiful yields.  It is tried and tested via years of use.

    Recipe list:

    • 1-large bag (2 cu ft) organic potting soil.  (no added fertilizers)
      • Add compost of mushroom, leaf mold and/or forest humus and/or ocean compost if soils do not contain.
      • Best practice is to add a blend of all.
      • Compost is carbon and is vital to your PH and micro life stability.
    • 1-large bag (2 cu ft) light mix (hanging basket mixes)
    • 1 cu ft perlite or comparative drainage product (choose a brand)
    • 1 cu ft worm dirt (worm castings) or (cow manure-composted)
    • 2 cup bone meal  (Alternative = soft-rock phosphate alternative)
    • 2 cup blood meal (Alternative - alfalfa meal)
    • 3 cup Kelp meal (I do not add to mix as I input during grow regular but this is normal part of recipe)
    • 4 cups fruit bat guano
    • 1/2 cup Epsom salts
    • 1 cup dolomite lime,
      • Can use agricultural lime but increase Epsom salts to 3/4 cup.
    • Biochar
      • Inoculate with natural farming inputs high in nitrogen.
      • Inoculate with equal amounts of garden teas and molasses.
        • Biochar
        • 1 gallon finished compost tea
        • 1 gallon finished worm tea
        • 1 cup of unsulphured molasses
        • Bubble 2 days.
    • +Pest management and brix additives.
      • BTI (gnat control)
      • Nematodes (optional pest control for most soil based bugs)
      • Rock dusts & azomite
      • Myco fungus and bacteria.

    Break Down of Recipe

1-large bag (2 cu ft) organic potting - Examples:

    • Any organic potting soil soil with good drainage.
    • You want soil with a mix of humus and ocean blends.
    • No chemical fertilizers
      • If you cannot find, add in the following type of composts
        • compost with ocean shells and kelp.
        • compost with good humus

1-large bag (2 cu ft) light mix type of potting soil.

    • Fox Farms Light Warrior soil, or promix or media for hanging baskets, or orchid mix it is likely suitable.
    • Any high drainage potting soil or soiless media
    • no chemical or additional fertilizers.

1 cu ft perlite (choose a brand)

    • chunky and not so fine.
    • High drainage is key for getting air to roots.
    • Some of the biggest indoor plants I have seen, were grown in only perlite.
      • I dont recommend only growing in perlite.

1 cu ft worm worm castings, (Cow Manure, composted is a very good alternative and some would say that about worm castings).

    • Add this in, in addition to any worm casting that might be contained in the other soils, you cannot have enough really.
    • This is key to jump starting the mineralization process.
      • Source of microbes and is where the bio life will mostly come from.
      • Watering in with a garden/compost/casting tea will help boost microbes too.
        • Generically I use basic veg tea without adding nitrogen other than castings and composts (my compost has some nitrogen from worm bin drainage)
        • You can adjust for the growth of the plants, using nitrogen aspects in vegetative periods and phosphorous when in flowering phases, generically spoken.
    • you will not burn your plants with correct castings.
      • Take it easy with worm bin drainage this is hot hot hot.
    • If you use your own castings you will see the sprouts of what you eat will come up initially when soil is put in grow room/container.  I let this happen for a moment as it helps jump start the microbe life in soil.
      • The sprouts of stuff gets recycled in compost bin but also can be used for making an IMO to help boost sprouts similar to roots excelsior.  I will write on that later.

    1 cu ft compost (optional).

    • If only able to get basic soil and basic light mix
      • Add compost with sea minerals
      • Add compost with humus
        • Forest compost
        • Garden or home compost
        • Bokashi is a very good alternative for garden compost).

    2 cup bone meal NPK -  3-15-0

    • This adds phosphorous.
      • (Alternative = soft-rock phosphate alternative)
    • Add fungi mycorrhiza as it breaks down the phosphorus and makes it available to the plant.
    • Plants can only get phosphorus from bone meal if the soil PH is below 7.0 (acidic soil).  (I have never seen as issue but if phosphorous is an issue than check PH out out due diligence.

    2 cup blood meal NPK - 12-0-0

    • Add nitrogen and can be made into a liquid
      • (Alternative - alfalfa meal)
    • Lowers PH
    • I like for recharging soil
    • helps maintain compost
    • A single application of blood meal is usually effective for 6 to 8 weeks before subsequent feedings are needed.
    • Is quick acting and can burn your plants if you use too much.
    • Take it easy adding extra nitrogen to your recipe.
      • If young plants show a bit to high ec signs, reduce blood meal in the recipe by a 1/4 to a 1/3 next time.
      • It is easier to add than take away.  If you have light feeding plants use less and adjust accordingly listening to the plants.
    • Blood Meal works with bacteria and nematodes (worm castings and teas are typical source) in the soil to breakdown the powder into nitrogen components so plants can more easily absorb the nutrients.

4 cups fruit bat guano NPK 0-10-0 (NPK can vary but ensure higher in P than N)

    • adds NPK but also adds mico life like worm castings
    • Reduce and increase as per your plants feeding.  Reduce for light feeders but I would not increase without getting a feel for the soil and how it works with your plants.
    • Guano helps keep the soil loose and not bulky by aiding decomposition
      • This helps keep a good aeration at the roots.

    1 cup dolomite lime

    • You can also use agricultural lime or garden lime but you might need to adjust the magnesium.
      • If using agriculture lime than increase Epsom salts by 1/4 cup per gallon which adjusts the magnesium.

    1/2 cup Epsom salts

    • Magnesium Sulfate
    • Magnesium is absorbed right when the seed begins to develop.
      • Magnesium assists with the process of seed germination, helping to strengthen the plant cell walls and improves received nutrients.
      • Magnesium assist with making chlorophyll
      • Magnesium helps the plant take in phosphorus and nitrogen
    • Sulfate, a mineral form of sulfur.
      • Sulfate is essential to the health and longevity of plants, and aides in the production of chlorophyll.
      • It works like a catalyst in the soil to make key nutrients more effective for plants, including nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

    2 cups of rock dust

    • (many do not do this, it is not needed but will increase brix if activated/mineralized by biolife) .
    • Rock based
    • Adds trace nutrients and macro nutrients.
    • Needs to be mineralized to work (biolife)

    2 cups of Azomite

    • (many do not do this, it is not needed but will increase brix if activated/mineralized by biolife)
    • Clay based
    • Similar to rock dust
    • I like as it breaks down differently than rock dust.

    Pest Control

    • BTI, Mosquito dunks to chunks to liquid.
      • Sprinkle bti on the soil and mix real good.
      • Liquid drops (microlift) (a few drops will take care of 30 gallons of water)
        • work faster than dunks
        • Use yucca when watering to help even spread in medias.
      • Great protection for fungas gnats.
      • It will not prevent infection but prevent them from reproducing.
    • Predator nematodes.
      • Using these will prevent infestations
      • Some of these ambush and some actively hunt.  Horror movie monsters in miniature.
    • Neem (some use, some dont),
      • is not considered dangerous to bees and other pollinators.
      • I often just use a small amount around transplant hole when planting into new soils.
        • I do not use again unless their is a pest aspect than I will mix in a bit when I redo the soil for next round.
      • Meal and cake
        • Is high in nitrogen so if you use it, consider lowering nitrogen else where in recipe to compensate.
        • Stimulates microbial activity.
        • Contains allelochemicals such as nimbidin and thionemone, which have some pesticidal properties
      • Neem oil
        • is rapidly broken down in the environment,
          • reapply every 3 to 5 days to maintain its effectiveness.
        • Oil is best use at first onset of an issue.

Mix it like it makes you cool and you want to be the coolest!  You can add biochar as well but I like this for recharging soil.  If you use biochar be sure to charge it first.  Otherwise it will remove nutrients from the soil.  A veg tea soak is a great thing to charge with.

Mix it very well, as if doing so makes you cool/popular.

You want to mix this very well.  We want to start the mineralization process but first we need to really mix it so lots of microbes and minerals are in effective contact.  The bacterial biolife can move around the media easy enough but we want optimal.

This soil is about minerals plus biolife and with the right environment they will make an ecosystem that will begin to mineralize the soil.  When this ecosystem begins and as it ages it will enable the plant to utilize the minerals and increase the plants uptake receptors for minerals such as calcium and this leads to a higher brix level.

Water in and cover, using compost as cover will help add in microbes.

    • Some like to use clear containers and some don't.  I do not notice a difference in growing of the plants in terms of plant quality but clear makes it more loamy and I prefer this as well but use what you got.
    • The important thing is time for the ecosystem to not just begin but to age.  You do not want to plant at the beginning as it can burn your plants.  I have used as soon as 2 weeks and I think it is still a bit hot for my plants but they grow out of it within a week.  If this is the case, let it cook a bit longer.
    • I like to let sit in containers for 2 weeks or more, keeping moist but not wet.
    • Then I put into grow containers and put in grow room and water in, water or tea.
    • Let sit for a few weeks
      • I have used within a week without issue but that is early for starting the soil system.
      • Cover media so not direct light or put a film over them with lights on normal,
        • Conditioning the soil ecosystem to new environment.
    • I use my castings so I have lots of seeds that will sprout from castings.  I use this a measurement that all is working but I wait a week once that starts and I let them sprout until they make their first leaves then I pull them and compost them.
      • This gets the soil life going and now is when I transplant into the soil.
    • The rest is plant management as you can pretty much forget doing anything other than watering until about week 4-6 for some flowering nutrients or teas.
    • You can also obtain a measure of control like in hydro by using various organic boosters and I will later show to make.  These are a form of IMO's.  I will also show how you can capture and multiply and use your own microbes from various sources.  Fun days to come.

    Some thoughts

This recipe comes from the base recipe that others made famous.  Once upon a time their was a group and over time this is the result of that groups work.  I was not their myself but I am in part the recipient of a good amount of that knowledge.

Their are endless varieties of this now and as long as the bio life is active I am sure they all pretty much work.  I have added the pest management aspect and the rockdust and azomite.  Not exactly rocket science in the make up but it is the starting of the soil ecosystem and keeping that healthy that is the difference.  In some circles the rock dust and azomite inputs would be deemed wasteful.  It is for each to decide for themselves.

    • The rockdust and azomite for me is more about assisting with long term stabilization which will take some time to initially be of benefit.  Thus if you are using short term soils then I agree this is without benefit all things competent.

I do not add kelp meal as I use it in liquid form.  I have never used it as media ingredient myself as a solid product due to my overall style.  If you do not regularly use kelp in liquid form, add in the Kelp meal when mixing your soil.

    Another recipe take.

This is a recipe I know others use with equal success.  I have not used these numbers but I have seen the plants.  Same as above but different rates.

    • 1 bale of soil (happy frog like): Find a blend of earthworm castings, bat guano and the composted forest humus or similar. No added ferts.

    • 1 bale of soil (Ocean forest like): Premium earthworm castings, bat guano, and sea-going fish and crab meal. Composted forest humus, sandy loam, and sphagnum peat moss give ocean forest its light, aerated texture. Anything with good aeration and chitin (crab shells and the like) and compost with good texture will do. No added ferts.

    • ½ + bag Chunky Perlite

    • + 30 pounds of Earth worm castings.

    • 3 c Bone meal +

    • 1 c pulverized dolomite lime

    • 1/2 c Epsom Salts

    • 1.5 c Azomite

    • 3 c Blood meal

    • 3 c Kelp meal

    • 2 cups fruit bat guano.

Thank you and I hope this post helps give an idea of soil that I use and a bit why.  If you have such interest, I hope it serves you well as it has me.

*OTHER OPTIONS FOR ADDING ORGANIC NUTRITION*

*Blood meal* (e.g. VermiBlood by Vermicrop Organics) — dried blood, not for the squeamish. Same NPK as feather 12-0-0. Very expensive. Contains iron. Very high protein content. Fine, water soluble.

*Calcium Phosphate* — not my favorite. Cheap – gives you phosphorus and calcium. Popular with organic growers. Issues with contaminants. (Uranium, Plutonium, cadmium, arsenic) Not recommended for growing medicinal plants.

*Crustacean Meal* – combination bi-product - ground up lobster, crab, shrimp shells. High N content along with potassium and calcium. Chitin in the crustacean meal provides a defensive response in plants against insect predation, so it can act as a beneficial pest preventative.

*Fishbone Meal*— store in dry conditions. Mold susceptible. High N. Very high phosphorus.

*Glacial Rock Dust* — trace elements—soft rock phosphate. High Phosphorus mined rock. 0-3-0 ultra slow release. Not recommended for short cycle plants.

*Green Sand* — Sand or sandstone with a green color. High silica levels. Another mined product. Similar to glacial rock dust.

*Insect Frass* (e.g. Charge by Ecothrive in Europe or "Insect Frass" in North America) broad spectrum fertility and a hit of beneficials. Also contains chitin.

*Mycorrhizae* (e.g. Subculture M by General Hydroponics) – More economical to use in transplant (direct contact with roots) rather than blending with potting mix. Relationships tend to be long term so there's an argument that this is better suited for cultivating larger, older plants.

Don't forget—if you follow this recipe make sure you wet your mix with some water and give it some time to compost and pH stabilize over a month or so.

    Reusing Soil

AGF-l7-lf7Cr0aUWTCxbyangcbD86AqDTtQloWb3OYR Frugal & Sustainable Organic Gardening

Reusing soil  is a simple as adding back more life, micro and macro nutrients while ensuring proper soil make up and good NPK.

    • A soil  test will tell you exactly what should be added and what is good.
      • Keep these records over time and if running similar crops under similar conditions (indoors) you can analyze the soil test after each batch to determine a customized process for your operation.

    Basic restoration of soil recipe.

    • Worm castings 10-15 percent.
    • Fruit bat guano 5% (for phosphorous)
    • Compost, from sea (chitin) 5 -10%
    • Compost from mushroom and/or forest 5 -10%
    • Myco, beneficial bacteria, IMO, lab.
    • Calcium
    • Magnesium, epsom salts
    • Coco/peat 20%
    • Added top soil 20%
    • old soil 40%
    • Biochar (additional)
    • Perlite, vermiculite, rice hulls, biochar, drainage materials.

Mix very well and let sit.  Spray with lab when mixing if you have.

    A song for you

The way to much information section!

This video explains soil textures, this is important to appreciate when making your own soils.  This knowledge can help you select from local sources and alternatives rather than name brands and such.

This video illustrates very well on how to select soils at various stores and working with what is available.  If you are inexperienced in selecting soils and ingredients on without a guide this is a must see.  Any thanks go to John from http://www.growingyourgreens.com/

    • John from http://www.growingyourgreens.com/ shows you from start to finish how to take an abandoned backyard space and transform it into a edible vegetable garden. In this episode, you will learn most everything you will need to know to start growing your food. You will discover the process that John goes through to select the best soil, build the raised beds, layout the raised beds, plant the raised beds and even install the drip irrigation system with a timer. This project took about 2 days to complete. Including 1 day sourcing all materials, and 1 day putting it all together.
    • My input to the video, I personally do not care about the omri certification but it does = to a standard but I consider this perhaps more classifications for profit that limit many viable products due to cost of process.
      • Evaluate and source your horticultural products to ensure they meet your personal and quality standards as applicable to each gardener.
    • Additionally the video illustrates extremely well how to understand, prepare and build growing areas.  In my opinion, he teaches and illustrates these aspects extremely well and I recommend all his videos at his channel.

    Dangers of indoor gardening

This section is put in as this is something we would consider a danger but I can see a law enforcement concern due to illegal indoor grows.  I recommend maintaining a low profile and communicating with the local law enforcement and horticultural clubs of your garden as to establish that it is a legitimate garden and offer them a tour if wanted.

    • If law enforcement visits you thinking it is an illegal garden you risk pets getting shot, those in house being shot, damage, potential confiscations of money and property depending on situation, appearance of criminality to public who only see raid, loss of rights of search due to misunderstanding to incompetence.
      • This is why I recommend having law enforcement know of your legal garden.
      • Understand from a law enforcement perspective it can be difficult to predetermine such things.
      •  While I do not condone improper searches and abuse we also have to understand growing indoors can be a grey area and for those who are not criminals tend to go into this aspect naive.

I really do not have any other good input myself as I cannot imagine such a scenario getting out of control as produce and flowers do not look like an illegal product.

I advise understanding but I also caution becoming to known publicly as thieves may target your grow lights.

    • When taking photos ensure to remove GPS data or any exif data that can identify your location if you post to social media.

  17. Emotions

Some people have chemical issues that influences the mind that need to be medicated more so than gaining an understanding.  This writing is for mainly people who have emotional misunderstanding and appreciation than those with a medical issue.

Emotion is an aspect of life that influences us all in our thoughts and behaviors.  Many people live by the whims of their emotions and others try to control it but far too less learn to effectively find a balance and understanding with "effectively" managing their emotions.  As a result most people will suffer in life from their emotional thoughts and behaviors.

Finding a balance with emotion is key to having a control in your life.  Those who have emotional issues are far from free in life as they are chained and controlled by those emotions.  I hope this writing will start a basis for those who are not free from emotional control to start the process to find your freedom or balance.

The first step is to see our own emotional healthiness so that we may understand our own issues and begin to identify the areas we need address.  The following 4 major points will assist in gaining an footing to determine where to look.

    1. Self Love - This is basically how much we like and admire ourselves and how we relate this to others.  In short, do we uphold our own view of ourselves after being challenged or seeing what others have/view etc or do we hold ourselves in a negative view after disapproval?
    2. Candor - Can we be honest and frank about who and what we are.   How do we react when when a part of ourselves is challenged by difficult views and upsetting facts even when the issues are not pleasant or even painful.
    3. Communication - How do we respond when we do not a desired response?  How well do communicate ourselves and our views?  Do we effectively teach our views or do we internalize them and hide or put away the issues or do we react with a rage or anger when confronted.   Do we teach our views or points or do we force and insist them?
    4. Trust - How strongly we believe in ourselves that we can handle life's situations.

This video will explain a bit about emotional healthyness

    Returning to Eden, Garden Earth

Natural Farming is merely a process of intelligent design that enables the farmer to co-exist in harmony in a natural ecosystem that nature has developed.  Modern farming for all its benefits has costs that are hard to pay and as time progresses with crop after crop slowly the modern farm degrades in quality and increases in depth and variety of costs in terms of toxic soils to polluted waters and increased algae blooms due to fertilizer run off to high water needs and other operating financial costs associated with modern farming practices.

    • To me, modern farming is the "addiction industry" of farming as it entices and then traps farmers into corporate methods and financial schemes.  Like any addiction, it is not so simple to change.

These methods are in part a direct answer to some of the issues of modern farming.  Natural Farming practices overtime will heal the land from increasing fertility and healing toxic soils.  Natural Farming begins to effectively address our damage to the planet by starting literally from the ground up with freedom from corporations and controlling operating schemes.

It is with much respect that I introduce to you not only this concept but some of the true fathers of Natural Farming methods.  I hope you see the value in this as it is far more than just farming and the growing of produce.    ~Admin

    Master Cho

Cho's Global Natural Farming SARRA India

Cho Han Kyu, or Cho Han-kyu, born in 1935 in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, Korea, invented the Korean Natural Farming method. Cho completesd high school education at the age of twenty-nine, while he worked on his family's farm. In 1965, he went to Japan as an agriculture research student for three years, and studied the natural farming method of three teachers: Miyozo Yamagishi (Japanese: 山岸 巳代蔵), Kinshi Shibata (柴田 欣志) and Yasushi Oinoue (大井上 康). [3]

Upon his return to Korea, Cho combined his newly acquired knowledge with the Korean traditional farming method and fermentation methods, used in such Korean food such as Kimchi, and gradually invented what we now call Korean Natural Farming, putting it into practice by setting up a "Labor-Saving Abundant Harvesting Study Group" in 1966. As he gained more practice, he opened the Natural Farming Life School and Research Farm in Goesan County, North Chungcheong Province, in 1995. [4]

Cho's international activities had started early by means of his contribution to the magazines and seminars aboroad. From 1992, he contributed 21-part articles in the "Modern Agriculture" magazine (Japanese: 現代農業) published in Japan, and, in 1995, held a large-scale one-week seminar in Japan for the leaders of the all-powerful Central Association of the Agriculrural Cooperatives of Japan (農業協同組合中央会). Cho, together his son, Cho Yongsang, has since held seminars in various countries of Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe. [5][6] As of 2014, they have trained over 18,000 people at the Janong Natural Farming Institute. Hoon Park brought KNF to Hawaii from South Korea where, as a missionary, he noticed KNF commercial piggeries with virtually no odor.[2]

In 2008, he renamed his natural farming school and lab to "Cho Han-kyu Global Village Natural Farming Research Institute", or Janon Natural Farming Institute.

The fundamental insight of KNF is to strengthen the biological functions of every aspect of plant growth to increase productivity and nutrition. Biology thereby reduces or eliminates the need for chemical interventions, whether to protect against predation and competition with other plants. For example, IMO metabolism produces complete proteins, while insects prefer incomplete proteins.

KNF avoids the use of waste products such as manure, which reduces the chance of transferring pathogens from the waste back into the food production chain, although in nitrogen-poor conditions adding manure can increase yield.[7][8]

    • Use the nutrients contained within the seeds
    • Use indigenous microorganisms (IMO’s)
    • Maximize inborn potential with fewer inputs
    • Avoid commercial fertilizers
    • Avoid tilling
    • No use of livestock waste

    Masanobu Fukuoka

Masanobu Fukuoka (1913-2008) was a farmer and philosopher who was born and raised on the Japanese island of Shikoku. He studied plant pathology and spent several years working as a customs inspector in Yokohama.  While working there, at the age of 25, he had an inspiration that changed his life.  He decided to quit his job, return to his home village and put his ideas into practice by applying them to agriculture.

Over the next 65 years he worked to develop a system of natural farming that demonstrated the insight he was given as a young man, believing that it could be of great benefit to the world.  He did not plow his fields, used no agricultural chemicals or prepared fertilizers, did not flood his rice fields as farmers have done in Asia for centuries, and yet his yields equaled or surpassed the most productive farms in Japan.

In 1975 he wrote The One-Straw Revolution, a best-selling book that described his life’s journey, his philosophy, and farming techniques.  This book has been translated into more than 25 languages and has helped make Mr. Fukuoka a leader in the worldwide sustainable agriculture movement.  He continued farming until shortly before his death in 2008, at the age of 95.

    large.831070403_MasanobuFukuoka.png.9986818c058dd97501e99e8f1176adac.png

After The One-Straw Revolution was published in English, Mr. Fukuoka traveled to Africa, India, Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States.  His interest turned to rehabilitating the deserts of the world using his natural farming techniques. This work is described in detail in Sowing Seeds In The Desert (2012).  Mr. Fukuoka is also the author of The Natural Way of Farming and The Road Back to Nature.  In 1988 he received the Magsaysay Award, often referred to as the “Nobel of Asia,” for Public Service.

    Plant Nutrition

    Nitrogen

Nitrogen, a basic and standard plant food.  However the idea of a "food" can be problematic for some gardeners when it comes to managing as we humanize the subject of supplying the plants with nutrition.  I will discuss plant nutrition more like building materials for a construction job.

As a gardener it is your job to supply the materials as needed.  If you send to much or to less it causes problems from uptake to use to storage.  If you care what you will get from your garden.  Be competent, diligent and not impulsive.

    :58db4621f1eef_treeongreenball:

    Carbon and Nitrogen

Carbon is obtained by plants mostly by C02 and thus is how in part plants can grow hydroponically and in soils of various stages.  Nitrogen type, growth speed vs transpiration rates will effect the internal carbon of the plant.  A balance of nitrogen to internal carbon with yield is the ideal goal.

In plants this carbon is often stored in the pith sections.

As a plant develops it uses and stores more nitrogen during the vegetative period and will relocate nitrogen from lower leaves later in bloom when needed.  Increasing nitrogen in bloom to account for nitrogen deficiency can extend the bloom to harvest period and offer a sub par harvest.

    :58db45f370dbe_bulbwithplants:

    Early Growth Considerations

Before we begin to consider applying fertilizers we need to consider a few things but essentially we want to consider plant transpiration and nitrogen volatization and mineralization in the soil and media.

    • Environment with considerations to
      • Temperature & humidity in terms of vapor pressure density for your crop area.
      • Dry and Wet conditions.
    • Root structure of plants
      • Feeding plants that have proper roots will ensure the plants can store enough nitrogen for the blooming stages.  Most of the nitrogen for the plants needs will be taken up and stored in the roots in the vegetative stage and reaching correct to optimum levels is important of yield goals.
      • The plants will make many chemical reactions and create many substances that all pretty much have other important uses in the plant.  Having early deficiencies with nitrogen can cause problems later in the grow on a variety of fronts.
      • Root structure and metabolism can lead to differential accumulation of nitrogen.
        • This happens when environmental or other reasons growth is slowed due to transpiration and assimilation issues.
        • Also can occur from uneven watering of the soil media.
        • This is a negative as it concentrates nitrogen in areas you do not want it and can extend a harvest.
        • Input of nitrogen in bloom stage can create new growth if concentrations are too high.
        • Generally keep Phosphorous and nitrogen in the correct ratio for the applicable plant stage.

    Types of Nitrogen

    • Nitrate Nitrogen
      • Must be converted prior to use internally in the plant.
      • Nitrogen can be leached easily from soils and medias.
        • More humid climates tend to have poorer nitrogen soils due to leaching.
      • + charge (type of nitrate can fluctuate in + value)
        • This can effect PH of the media.
          • The plant will release a - ion for a + Ion.
          • This build up in the media can alter the PH of the media depending on a variety of factors.
      • Molybdenum is needed to convert nitrate to ammonia to be use in the plant.
      • Nitrogen metabolism takes place in roots and the leafs (shoots).
        • Respiration and transpiration rates affect the plants ability .
          • Environment, EC, plant stage and media conditions are all factors.
      • The assimilation of nitrate is an energy-consuming process,
        • using the equivalent of 15 mol of adenosine triphosphate (ATP - is energy from photosynthesis) for each mole of nitrate reduced (16).
      • Storing nitrate is not toxic.
      • Nitrate can be made mobile.

    • Ammonia Nitrogen
      • Ammonia nitrogen can be used by the plant immediately when foliar fed.
      • Ammonia nitrogen can be assimilated twice as fast as nitrate.
      • Ammonia is broken within 3 days to a few weeks depending on temperature and PH of media by biolife and turned into nitrite.
        • Ammonia in high concentration can stop the nitrogen cycle.
        • Nitrogen cycle
        • Water logged media can remove the soil bacteria and ammonium increases becomes toxic to your plant.
      • Ammonia has a negative - charge.
        • This can effect PH of the media.
          • The plant will release a - ion for a + Ion.
          • This build up in the media can alter the PH of the media depending on a variety of factors.
      • Ammonia nitrogen has a high energy requirement.
        • The assimilation of ammonia requires an additional five ATP per mole.
        • In roots, as much as 23% of the respiratory energy may be used in nitrate assimilation compared with 14% for ammonium assimilation (17).
      • Ammonium is toxic at even low concentrations and must be metabolized into organic combination. Consequently, ammonium metabolism for detoxification may deplete carbon reserves of plants much more than nitrate accumulation.
        • Glutamine synthetase an enzyme created via several processes nitrate reduction but is necessary for ammonia absorption.
          • Part of domino effect of problems if deficiencies shut down.
          • An in part reason why a nutrient is typically made up of a nitrate and ammonia %.
          • The plant will go into phytotoxic conditions if Glutamine Synthetase is reduced or prevented.
    • Their are several parts of ammonia with in the plant assimulation process but each process makes an enzyme or amino acid that is used in another process.

    Nitrogen Aspects

Their are many enzymes, amino acids, and other types of chemicals made during the internal processing of the different states of internal nitrogen use.  Some of these products and/or their % may indicate stress factors or assist in other functions of the internal plant processes in terms of making the process function in some detoxification way.  Detecting these signals can assist in future planning.

    • It is important to understand that concept as I will tie that in later in advanced growing writing when talk about making changes via stress by altering hormone and auxin levels.
    • This is important in Plant Tissue Testing. (Not THC or CBD but for analysis of growth and deficiency)

Nitrogen and other NPK % can affect internal plant signals and alter its growth condition based on those signals.

    • Higher Phosphorous than nitrogen signals flowering aspects in some plants.
    • Longer flowering tropical plants will use nitrogen over a longer period of time but you generally fertilize similar for each period of growth.  Generally only the length of the development periods is different.
    • Ammonia and Nitrate nitrogen % of a recipe can be used to help regulate PH in regards to some medias.

    Optimal Nitrogen Use

When we think of optimal we think we can open up a book or jump on the device known as the internet and find our answer.  Their is no true answer that you seek like that.  You can find ranges but the answer you seek is unique and complicated to be that simple.

    • Optimal comes from environment, overall nutrition, plant management, competence and diligence.

Nitrogen is very difficult to determine for yield as the plants are not visibly showing when they are at their "sufficiency" or optimum for yield and is known as critical concentration.  Continued use of nitrogen will accumulate to toxicity.

    • The gap from sufficiency to toxicity can vary from large to small.
    • With a nutrient supply in which all elements except nitrogen are held at a constant high level,
      • The concentration of nitrogen within the plant should increase with growth and yields, with increases in nitrogen supply.
    • Nitrogen concentrations in leaves are often not correlated with increased growth and yields.
      • Green color of leaves does not indicate optimum or even wholly problematic levels.
        • Changes and timing of nitrogen levels can affect harvest time periods.
      • Nitrogen concentrations will diminish in leaves, stems, and roots as the plants mature but added nitrogen will go to the plant tissues and become concentrated.
      • Levels vary by the time of day in regards to the daily life function of the plant.
        • In morning or when light starts about 2 hours after.

    :general:

    Testing

The only way to truly determine absolute nitrogen optimum for your plants is via plant tissue testing.  For small farms this may not be large factor but for medium and large farm operations this difference can be a noticeable saving when adjusted for yield and cost efficiency.

    • With this information precise nutritional formulas can be developed for specific locations with respects to its specific environment and plants.
    • Tested plant material should be collected at same light conditions and time of day and location of plants.
      • leaf from same exact location on several plants per section for example.

The use of information on internal concentrations of nitrogen in plants should not be directed toward forecasting of yields as much as it should be used in assessing how yields can be improved by fertilization in reference to other nutritional issues.  In part this is due to still many factors to come with the growing period that can affect.

    • Field yields rarely give book yields until a farmer is experienced and competent.
    • Generically you want to reduce nitrogen as the plant wants to start to add weight to fruit or when flower truly bloom and no longer make buds but concentrate on the flowers.

If nitrogen uptake and assimilation is deficient during its stages of early development it will be problematic.

    • It is common for people to over nitrogen accumulate toxic levels which can be more problematic than under feeding.

Testing is only valid for the location and time period of each specific garden or farm.

    • Environmental, overall nutrition, management system, water frequency and type of nitrogen form makes your test unique to you.
      • Same crop, same size, same fertilizer but different location will equal different tests.
      • Their is no golden number from a book, what you search for is the capability of "your" environment, plant, nutrition and you!

    :58db46169fb07_plantincontainer:

    Deficiencies

I have not seen better than the site grow weed easy illustrate and explain deficiencies so I wont try.

The identification of a problem is the easy part, addressing is easy enough but understanding the reason for the deficiency is important to ensure the issue is not repeated.

    • Generically speaking, nitrogen deficiency (not toxicity) often will not overly affect yield when only occurring in bloom but is illustrative of potential problems in transport (environmental stress? if current but often is result of earlier deficiency).
      • In terms of yellow plants ensure optimal P and enhance the limited photosynthesis you can to keep transport energy levels up more so than healthy plant.
      • Yellowing of leaves is not always caused by nitrogen deficiency but often is a common affect.

The reasons for a nitrogen problem is not always easy to pinpoint.  The following should lead you to the cause but understand deficiency and other problems are often in a domino effect.  Ensure to thoroughly understand the cause and how to prevent again.  If only fix the visible issue you potentially will see issues again.  Be diligent with this.

    • Check environment records,
      • Temperature (highs and lows and at period of growth)
      • Humidity
      • Light distance
      • Clean Air
      • C02?
      • OZ near plants?
    • Check nutritional records,
      • Check amounts and frequency of feeding
      • Check timing
        • issue after a particular feed?
        • If soil based.
          • Review recipe and ensure the % of nitrogen cycle breakdown is correct and all accounted for.
          • Annotate when you notice the issue and try to determine its starting period of time.
            • Next grow with similar soil make up either add fertilizers at that point next grow
            • or Adjust soil recipe increasing or decreasing the % and types of nitrogen as applicable.
        • Check growth period and ensure the nutritional recipe was correct.
          • Sometimes after an incorrect and/or too strong garden is given.
          • Make sure you identified the correct period of plant development.
            • This can happen during vacations or periods when focus is not on the garden.
      • Check % of nitrate and ammonia.
        • In hydro a reservoir fix is typically enough.
        • In soil a flush to doing re-pot may be necessary if the soil has become acidic (not meaning PH)
    • Check Media conditions,
      • wet, good or dry?
      • pest?
      • compact/loose media?
      • root bound?
    • Check Stress factors
      • Management factors
        • Top?
        • Tie down?
        • Accident?
        • Media humidity unstable?
        • Pest
        • Fungus/disease
        • Root damage
        • pesticide/fungicide?

The sum total of that information should enable you to adjust your nitrogen use from general to optimal ranges.

    Nitrogen & Pollution

Nitrogen is a necessary ingredient but is also a very polluting one due to its mobile nature.  Small growers tend to not think of these aspects and thus the small farmers do play a large part in nitrogen run off issues which is currently being seen in urban settings.  In the future I can see the working on regulations that will financially impact this industry and will be with merited reasons but if farmers do not incorporate correct nutritional rates the farmer actually plays a role in the altering of waters due to increase nitrogen which tends to boost algae and other unfavorable unbalanced biological growth in our environment areas.  Often this is effect is unseen and largely under appreciated.

Growing our own foods is like a super power in terms of survival of a species.  Few creatures pull this off and with this altering comes a responsibility that humanity has not effectively embraced and thus we cause nature to suffer and only take noticed when forced via pollution effects of magnitude and/or regulatory controls which often have political slants that confuse the reduce the effectiveness of the issue.

Nitrogen pollution from farming of all sizes should be taken seriously as it is a big factor largely ignored because of special interest, politics and costs.  Their are and will be more emotional views of merit regarding this subject as time progresses and the issues becomes more necessary to address.  I suggest looking at all views and determining best from that as facts can become blurry as politics and political operatives do their work.

    • Some issues for farmers.
      • Often from a financial stand point chemical nitrogen fertilizers are more cost efficient due chemical made nitrogen having a higher % and reduced cost in volume in shipping and field distribution.
        • Generically written.
      • Due to this view, it should be understood that a farmer may have to embrace chemical fertilizers to remain financially viable in comparison to organic fertilizers but this is only one aspect of that overall consideration but is stated to give this perspective of organic and chemical nitrogen's use in farming.
        • Sometimes people can question a farmer fertilizer choice not realizing if they did not they would potentially put at risk the farms profit or even lose money.

    Nitrogen Properties and Fertilizer Use

    • Nitrogen cycle must be understood, video describes this cycle earlier in compilation
      • Ammonia volatilization is needed to be understood.  (the changing of ammonia to nitrite and then to nitrate.)

    Anhydrous Ammonia (82% N)

    • In agriculture, anhydrous gaseous ammonia is compressed into a liquid and is applied under high pressure with a special implement by injection at least 15cm deep into a moist soil.
    • The ammonia gas reacts with water to form ammonium ions, which can be held to clay or organic matter.
    • If the ammonia is not injected deeply enough or soil is too wet or dry, ammonia can be lost by volatilization.
    • Anhydrous ammonia is usually the cheapest source of nitrogen,
      • Equipment and power requirements of the methods of application are specific and high.

    Aqua Ammonia (21% N)

    • Aqua ammonia is ammonia dissolved in water under low pressure.
    • Aqua ammonia must be incorporated into land to avoid losses of nitrogen by ammonia volatilization;
      • Is not needed to be incorporated as deeply as anhydrous ammonia.

    Urea (46% N)

    • Urea is the most widely used dry nitrogen fertilizer.
    • After application to soils, urea is converted into ammonia, which can be held in the soil or converted into nitrate.
    • Ammonia volatilization following fertilization with urea can be substantial, and if urea is applied to the surface of the land, considerable loss of nitrogen can occur.
    • With surface-applied urea, alkalinity of pH 9 or higher can develop under the urea granule or pellet, and ammonia will volatilize into the air.
      • Volatilization occurs on bare ground, on debris, or on plant leaves.
    • Urea is readily soluble in water, and rainfall or irrigation after its application move it into the soil and lessens volatilization losses.
    • Use of urease inhibitors has been suggested to lessen the volatilization losses of ammonia from surface-applied urea.
    • Manufactured urea is identical to urea in animal urine.

Calcium nitrate urea (calurea, 34% N, 10% Ca) is a double-compound fertilizer of calcium

    • Nitrate and urea to supply calcium and nitrogen
    • Several derivatives of urea are marketed as slow-release fertilizers.
      • Urea formaldehyde (ureaform, 38% N) is a slow-release fertilizer manufactured from urea and formaldehyde and is used
for fertilization of lawns, turf, container-grown plants, and field crops.
        • Urea formaldehyde is also a glue and is used for the manufacture of plywood and particle board.
      • Dicyandiamide (cyanoguanidine) (66% N) is a nitrogen fertilizer but is used most commonly as an additive (2% of the total N fertilizer) as a nitrification inhibitor with urea.
      • Sulfur-coated urea is a slow-release formulation (30–40% N) used as a fertilizer for field crops, orchards, and turfgrass
      • Isobutylidene diurea (IBDU) is similar to urea formaldehyde, but contains 32% nitrogen.
        • However, utilization of IBDU is less dependent on microbial activity than urea formaldehyde, as hydrolysis proceeds rapidly following dissolution of IBDU in water. Nitrogen is released when soil moisture is adequate.
        • IBDU is used most widely as a lawn fertilizer.
        • Its field use is to restrict leaching of nitrogen
      • Methylene ureas are a class of sparingly soluble products, which were developed during the 1960s and 1970s. These products contain predominantly intermediate chain-length polymers.
        • The total nitrogen content of these polymers is 39 to 40%, with between 25 and 60% of the nitrogen present as cold-water-insoluble nitrogen.
        • This fertilizer is used primarily in fertilization of turfgrass,
        • It has been used with other crops on sandy soils or where leaching of nitrate is an environmental concern.

    Ammonium Nitrate (34% N)

    • Ammonium nitrate is a dry material sold in granular or prilled form. It can be broadcasted or side dressed to crops and can be left on the surface or incorporated. It does not give an alkaline reaction with soils; hence, it does not volatilize readily. However, incorporation is recommended with calcareous (high calcium soils) soils.
      • Ammonium nitrate is decreasing in popularity because of storage problems, e.g., with fire and explosion.
    • Calcium ammonium nitrate (ammonium nitrate limestone, about 20% N and 6% Ca) is a mixture of ammonium nitrate and limestone. This fertilizer is not acid-forming and is used to supply nitrogen and calcium to crops.

    Ammonium Sulfate (21% N)

    • Ammonium sulfate is marketed as a dry crystalline material.
      • It is recommended for use on alkaline soils where it may be desirable to lower soil pH.
      • Nitrification of ammonium is an acidifying process.
        • Ammonium sulfate can be broadcasted or side dressed. It can left on surfaces or incorporated,
          • On calcareous (high calcium) soils watering in or incorporating is recommended to avoid ammonia volatilization

    Nitrogen Solutions (28–32% N)

    • These fertilizers are mixtures of ammonium nitrate and urea dissolved in water.
    • In the solutions, half of the nitrogen is supplied as urea, and half is supplied as ammonium nitrate.
      • Because of the difficulties in handling, urea and ammonium nitrate should not be mixed together in dry form.
      • The solution acts once the dry materials are applied to the soil.
      • Ammonia volatilization may be substantial during warm weather, especially with surface application.
      • The solutions should be watered into the soil and should not be applied to foliage.

    Ammonium Phosphates (10–21% N)

    • Ammonium phosphates are important phosphorus-containing fertilizers because of their high concentrations of phosphorus and water solubility.
    • Ammonium phosphates are made by reaction of ammonia with orthophosphoric acid (mono- and diammonium salts) or with superphosphoric (pyrophosphoric) acid
      • Diammonium phosphate (commonly 18% N, 46% P2O5) is a dry granular or crystalline material.
        • It is a soil-acidifying fertilizer and is useful on calcareous soils.
        • It should be incorporated into the soil.
        • It is a common starter fertilizer and is a common component of greenhouse and household fertilizers.
      • Monoammonium phosphate (commonly 11% N, 48% P2O5) has uses similar to those of diammonium phosphate.
      • Ammonium polyphosphate (10% N, 34% P2O5) is marketed as a solution.
        • Its use is similar to that of monoammonium phosphate and diammonium phosphate.

    Double-salt mixtures

    • such as ammonium nitrate sulfate (30% N), ammonium phosphate nitrate (25% N), urea ammonium phosphate (25–34% N), nitric phosphate, and ammoniated superphosphate (8% N) (152).
    • These materials are used in the manufacture of mixed N-P-K fertilizers or for special needs in soil fertility.

    Organic Nitrogen Fertilizers (0.2–15% N)

    • Most commercial varieties of organic nitrogen comes from other industry with waste plant and animal sources and are proteinaceous.
    • Organic nitrogen is typically more costly in terms of shipping and distribution in the field.
    • Organic materials range from less than 1 to about 15% N compared with the chemical sources.
    • Difficult for analysis.
      • Commercially organic fertilizers decline in usage with time.
      • Additionally the proteinaceous by-products of food processing have higher value as feeds for poultry and livestock than as fertilizers.
      • Demand for organic fertilizers remains, as organic farmers require these products in the maintenance
of soil fertility on their cropland
    • The value of organic nitrogen fertilizers depends on their rate of mineralization, which is closely related to their nitrogen concentration). Generally, the more nitrogen in the fertilizer, the faster the rate of mineralization.
      • In bio farming methods such as natural farming/Korean farming microbes and fungus assist with this aspect more and that is a key ingredient to success to maintain mineralization at acceptable levels.

    Recap Video

    Summary

Understanding nitrogen correctly will enable you to manage your crops successfully.  By proper analysis it is possible to find your optimum nitrogen range for your unique location, plant and conditions.  When volumes of fertilizer are being used this can be a good cost effective means as the luxury level plants can hold without benefit to yield or quality is a wast of resources.

By understanding how to minimize leaching of nitrogen we also become better stewards of the land we have taken for our needs.
